I bought my first Mac 9 months ago.  I'll never go back.  I was concerned about compatibility, but that has not really been an issue.  This machine is fast - much faster than a Windows-based PC.  It is efficient.  It fires up every time, just as one who had not been hood-winked by Microsoft would expect.  I have not had any problems and I think it is definitely worth the extra expense.
