Introduction — I have been using Windows machines for 20 years. I worked at Microsoft in 1992 when they launched Windows 3.1. So, as you can see, I don't come by my decision to switch to a Mac lightly. So why did I do it? First, I have had it with the system crashes that come out of now where. I layout catalogs, covers and magazines for a living and this iMac is a god-send! Its processor is fast and it handles my heavy graphics software with ease - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign... plus the iMovie and iPhoto accessories that come with it are a blast. I would definitely recommend this computer to anyone who wants a great out-of-the-box, easy to use, reliable option that is also great looking. I have had my computer for a couple of years now and it's the best computer I've ever purchased. It doesn't become obsolete the minute I take it out of the box and (knock on wood) I've not had any problems with it since. The screen is big and very beautiful. From the minute I took this baby out of the box I was in love! It was a low price desktop, easy to set up, easy to use, and amazing resolution! Having always been a PC user, I have found my new 24" IMAC to be simple to use, especially for e-mail and web browsing. The computer looks good and comes pre-loaded with almost any software I have a use for with the possible exception of a full fledged "office" type suite. The included test software for both Microsoft Office for Mac which does not allow printing and the Mac I-Work 08 (Completely usable) show the differences between Mac products and Microsoft. I have been a diehard PC user my whole life, never wanted to look at a Mac. Then my friend bought this iMac, and I loved all the programs, so I took a huge jump of faith, bought one along with all the great iMove, iDVD, etc. I have made so many movies, and I love how easy it is to use. I was a pc user for the longest time till I got tried of the typical headaches with PC . I decided to give Apple a try and bought there all in one iMac. I have to say it took me longer to get it out of the box then it did to set it up and start using it! Amazing three wires, one for the keyboard, mouse and power to get you going! Using an iMac is like driving a high performance car. It will get you to the same place as your old clunker, it just makes the ride a whole lot more enjoyable. Apple has done a fantastic job of combining performance and style. The iMac is very user friendly and easy to put together. I had it up in running about five minutes after I got it out of the box. I recently started using VMWare fusion with Windows XP on the Mac; I've never had such a pleasurable windows experience before either. It runs faster and with far fewer errors. I had been debating for a while which computer I was going to get. I had previously owned a Dell and assumed I would buy another since mine was about 3 years old. My sister had purchased a mac before me and I loved to use hers. I still wasn't sure If I was going to like it because I was so used to a PC. Now that I have it, I am sticking with the mac. This was my first foray into the world of macs, and I love it. After the initial frustration, this was easy to use (on top of being absolutely lovely). We had some technical problems with it about a year in, and were thrilled when we took it to the apple store and the genius there was able to replace the entire unit free of charge (and we didn't even have an extended warranty; it was just covered by their standard plan). Once you go Mac you never go back!! I was amazed with this computer. I was frustrated with how badly my dell desktop was performing - every day I would get a blue screen crash. After being a diehard PC compatible practical person, I made the leap to the iMac last year and I couldn't be happier. iMac comes with software as good or better than that which came with the PC. I know the have been some discouraged users regarding the glossy screen. Where that does pose some issues it is quickly overshadowed by the wealth of features and horsepower packed into this beast. The iMac has an enormous 24 inch screen and enough RAM and disk space to run the most power hungry graphics applications. As a bonus I can run Windows XP without issue for those 3D applications that are only available for Windows. I needed to replace my dinosaur iMac from 4 years ago. The computer still worked great just at a snails pace. I looked to converting to the PC world and was not impressed as I use my computer mostly for my digital pictures. The new 24 inch iMac was the best decision I could have made.
