Switching from a string of terrible windows laptops to the Apple IMac honestly change my life. This conputer is not only nice to look at, it allows me to run 2 businesses from hoke with no hiccups. Internet is easy, software is awesome and easy, the screen is bright and i never hae to worry about viruses. Thank you, Steve Jobs. Ease of Use Installing hardware and software is a snap! Hardware Quality The touch control mouse is hard to get used to but brilliant once you learn it. Support & Service Support is helpful amd quick, but can be expensive Durability It's so pretty i'm a little afraid i'll break it. Design Sexy. Performance Even Sexier.

I'll never go back to a PC again

I am a freelance graphic designer and also do video editing sometimes on the side so my husband and I decided to purchase an iMac because we knew for graphics and video that no PC could compare.  I was a bit leery of making the switch over to Mac, because I remember the old Apple computers from when I was younger and I didn't like them very much.  Right out of the box this thing was GORGEOUS, it just LOOKED pretty.  As far as function we have been using ours for about 5 years now and had never had any big problems with it.  The only issue that I have is that I have is that with the one I bought the memory and RAM is maxed out, and I have to buy a whole new computer (which is not cheap) to expand my hard drive.  For graphics, you can't ask for a better computer.  I run final cut express on it along with the entire Adobe creative suite and I just love it.  Everything just works seemlessly on the iMac.  I love it and I'm never going back to PC again.

I'm in the minority, but my Apple desktop wasn't my favorite

I've had a PC for years and years. Used Windows software and generally enjoyed my computer. When it came time to replace it, my husband insisted on buying me an Apple. I didn't much care one way or another, I just needed a good working computer. We have many friends who swear by Apple products and wouldn't even consider anything else. "They never crash, get viruses, etc"...I however, did not have the best experience with mine. First, when I went to use the computer I found that the Mac desktop is the reverse of Windows (more like vice-versa, actually as I believe Mac came first), so it was difficult getting used to doing everything differently. I often went to the right of my screens to close them, as that was what I was used to...Apple's is on the left. Small things like that, but it took a little getting used to. I had some editing software (and many other software products) that I knew like the back of my hand and loved that weren't available for Mac. I was told I could buy a program that would allow me to use Windows on my Mac...unfortunately, I don't have extra money to pay for 2 operating systems. Anyway, the most important thing was...my Mac did the *impossible* and that was crash several times. At first my husband told me I was crazy, my friends said it couldn't possibly be...so I started keeping a record of every time it froze or crashed (often just turned itself off completely in the middle of something I was doing). I had quite a list going when it happened right in front of my husband. He had insisted I must have done something wrong, but after seeing it himself was more inclined to believe me. We took it to the Apple store and were helped right away by a friendly clerk who did a quick diagnosis and saw for himself (as the computer keeps it's own records, I found) what was happening. He said it was unusual, but obviously mine had a problem. They kept it and put in a complete new mother board to fix the problem. Unfortunately, about a week after I got it home, it acted up again. Fortunately we had a warranty on it, so when we took it back again they gave me a complete new computer. They were great about it, so no fault there. I have had the new one for about a month now and so far so good. I am sure it will be great this time. I do caution those who have had PC's for a long time and have particular software that they like to take that into consideration before switching. It cost a lot to repurchase software and some of it wasn't available at all. I am sure Apple makes great products, I just happened to not have a great experience with mine.

Such a great computer. Easy to use, and the initial setup was a piece of cake. The 24" screen is fabulous. My whole family can use it with ease. Comes with great programs. It is a little pricey, but worth the cost.

This is a perfect computer. Everything is built in the moniter, so it's very convienent. The speakers sound very good too. It comes with many good programs, like garageband. Some of the programs can be buggy sometimes, though. The screen is amazing, and very huge. The display is great. I can see the screen clearly from many feet away. The only downside is that it is prone to glare problems. Setup is very simple. Easy as pie. There are hardly any viruses for mac like there are windows. There is no blu-ray, which is kind of disappointing. The computer itself runs very fast. The keyboard is nice and compact. There is also lots of space. Music and pictures can be easily organized using itunes and iphoto. The video graphics are incredible. It is easy to create movies and slideshows using imovie. It is easy to figure out Leopard if you've ever operated windows. The built in microphone has impressive sound quality. Overall this is a sold computer.

I am a very firm believer in "you get what you pay for", and I hold onto that truth for all different types of purchases. This has never been more evident than when my wife and I decided to go for the gusto and jump into the water with a Mac. We selected the Apple iMac 24 in desktop computer for our personal, home use. We have been very happy with the build of the machine, the speed of the processor, the functionality of the software, and the ease of use the Apple iMac 24 in desktop computer offers non-Apple users. This Mac is the first one in our extended family, and so far everyone has been able to use this Mac when they have needed to get on the internet to check, change, edit, or research something. We got more bang for our buck, as we decided to buy a refurbished Apple iMac 24 in desktop computer from the Apple website. It was a top end machine and when we ordered it, the Apple iMac 24 in desktop computer came quick, was easy to setup, and has worked flawlessly.
