Apple Inc. has had a long and storied history and its name is equated with simplicity, quality, performance and the most loyal fan-base in the business. Could the Apple iMac 24” be one of the reasons why? According to our community of loyal Mac users, it most certainly must be. The family computer (a six year old Dell desktop) refused to boot. Microsoft Windows XP decided to take a permanent holiday. My family was starting to grumble about the lack of a computer in our home. What was I to do? — — A year ago I started using a Apple MacBook Pro at work and had bid Microsoft Windows adieu. This seemed like the perfect moment to switch over to a Mac at home. I considered the Apple Mac Mini since I did have the screen, keyboard and mouse from the Dell, but evaluating what hardware (processor, video card, web cam, speakers, hard drive, RAM, etc.) you got… read full review »

Introduction — I have been using Windows machines for 20 years.  I worked at Microsoft in 1992 when they launched Windows 3.1.  So, as you can see, I don't come by my decision to switch to a Mac lightly.  So why did I do it?  First, I have had it with the system crashes that come out of now where.  And like many people, I am drawn to the clean design of the Apple computers.  And now of course that I have been using the iMac 24" for the past few months I now see what I was often told.  The software itself (Leopard) is more stable and faster… read full review »

I layout catalogs, covers and magazines for a living and this iMac is a god-send! Its processor is fast and it handles my heavy graphics software with ease - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign... plus the iMovie and iPhoto accessories that come with it are a blast. The 24" monitor is better than the one I have at work - I wish I could work on this computer all the time! —… read full review »

I would definitely recommend this computer to anyone who wants a great out-of-the-box, easy to use, reliable option that is also great looking. I have had my computer for a couple of years now and it's the best computer I've ever purchased. It doesn't become obsolete the minute I take it out of the box and (knock on wood) I've not had any problems with it since. The screen is big and very beautiful. I love looking at pictures and creating movies and slide shows with my daughter's pictures for family and friends to watch. It's easy to do, even for this computer-challenged user. Give it a… read full review »

From the minute I took this baby out of the box I was in love! It was a low price desktop, easy to set up, easy to use, and amazing resolution! I was not a mac user before purchasing this and I will never go back to using a PC. This is like having you own mini plasma tv set up right on your desk. The picture quality is fantastic and the music sounds great too! This is the best thing Mac has done since the iPod! —… read full review »

Having always been a PC user, I have found my new 24" IMAC to be simple to use, especially for e-mail and web browsing. The computer looks good and comes pre-loaded with almost any software I have a use for with the possible exception of a full fledged "office" type suite. The included test software for both Microsoft Office for Mac which does not allow printing and the Mac I-Work 08 (Completely usable) show the differences between Mac products and Microsoft. I am very happy I made the change, especially since the Apple product will now allow me to run Windows and any Windows product I… read full review »

I was a pc user for the longest time till I got tried of the typical headaches with PC . I decided to give Apple a try and bought there all in one iMac. I have to say it took me longer to get it out of the box then it did to set it up and start using it! Amazing three wires, one for the keyboard, mouse and power to get you going! If you want to get rid of the keyboard and mouse wires Apple has both in blue-tooth again very easy to set up. Hooking it to the Internet was easy. I plugged it in and it was done! Same when I went wireless. Installed software followed the instructions and I had… read full review »

Using an iMac is like driving a high performance car. It will get you to the same place as your old clunker, it just makes the ride a whole lot more enjoyable. Apple has done a fantastic job of combining performance and style. The iMac is very user friendly and easy to put together. I had it up in running about five minutes after I got it out of the box. I recently started using VMWare fusion with Windows XP on the Mac; I've never had such a pleasurable windows experience before either. It runs faster and with far fewer errors. I have yet to encounter "not responding" on my virtualized… read full review »

I had been debating for a while which computer I was going to get.  I had previously owned a Dell and assumed I would buy another since mine was about 3 years old.  My sister had purchased a mac before me and I loved to use hers.  I still wasn't sure If I was going to like it because I was so used to a PC.  Now that I have it, I am sticking with the mac.  It is so user friendly and has so many aspects to it that I enjoy.  I love the fact that I can download shows and movies off itunes and watch them right on my computer.  It is a great size screen and… read full review »

This was my first foray into the world of macs, and I love it.  After the initial frustration, this was easy to use (on top of being absolutely lovely).  We had some technical problems with it about a year in, and were thrilled when we took it to the apple store and the genius there was able to replace the entire unit free of charge (and we didn't even have an extended warranty; it was just covered by their standard plan).  We were so impressed that we  hurried to buy the extended care plan.  After years of worthless (and pricey) extended warranty plans from big… read full review »

Once you go Mac you never go back!! I was amazed with this computer. I was frustrated with how badly my dell desktop was performing - every day I would get a blue screen crash. After being a diehard PC compatible practical person, I made the leap to the iMac last year and I couldn't be happier. iMac comes with software as good or better than that which came with the PC. The usability is 100 times better and I don't miss anything that I had on my PC. Even more important - NO CRASHES! Buy a MAc and you will be very very happy with your purchase - guaranteed! — —… read full review »

I needed to replace my dinosaur iMac from 4 years ago.  The computer still worked great just at a snails pace.  I looked to converting to the PC world and was not impressed as I use my computer mostly for my digital pictures.  The new 24 inch iMac was the best decision I could have made.  The image quality is unbelievable on the screen.  The pictures appear just like the hard copy from the photo store.  My pictures upload in a quarter of the time it used to take. … read full review »

Just bought a new imac with a 24" screen. It was super easy to set up and transfer files from our old mac. The screen is gorgeous, the software that was included was terrific, — — and the whole machine is just a pleasure to use. PC users, make the switch. I use a PC at work, and a mac at home, and I don't know why everyone doesn't use a mac, except for the price. It's worth it, truly. — —… read full review »

I thought I was a PC fan - mainly because I'm not that great with computers. Mac seemed like it would be harder to use...but I was WRONG! My husband had to buy one for business and now our PC is only touched by our 2 year old. We are addicted. The screen is AMAZING perfect for editing photographs and up close graphic design work. Its only a slight bit more money for an amazingly better product. —… read full review »
