The new IMAC/EMAC is a marvel. Gone are my days of Microsoft supported computers. This is my first experience with an Apple product since we bought our kids an Apple computer over 20 years ago. They have come a long way.
The 20" monitor is about an 1 1/2" thick but contains everything that use to be in my old computer tower. The keyboard, mouse, printer and dsl plug into the back. DVD/CD slot is on the side of the monitor. All of our Microsoft files were transferable to MAC OS X.
The MAC OS X software was already installed when I took delivery. The navigation is simple and for those of us who...
read full review »We bought iMac computer mainly for educational purposes and online access. It surpasses the speed we were looking for. As first time user of an Apple computer, it was very intimidating to use since it has different operating system than other computer that we commonly use. Eventually, we were able to get used to its wonderful features. Aside from it is user friendly, it is virtually virus free and re-sets itself to even more efficient for next day use. It does not require a ~shut down~ after use but of course it is an option based on your preferences. It is not a cheap computer but...
read full review »I'd never laid fingers to a MAC before my husband purchased two for us last month. I've been a loyal Gateway customer until the last one started crapping out a year before the 3 year extended warranty was up, and they gave me problems about fixing it. I said "no more!" and started looking at the iMAC. I love it! Easy to learn, easy to use, so many options, and I can still use Microsoft Office on it, which is important to me, because I do work that requires Word.
What's not to love? It takes up so much less space, the graphics are awesome (I am an amateur photographer), many features I've yet...

I have 2 Macs: laptop G4 (bought in 2005) and desktop iMAC (bought in 2007). If there is one thing I am glad not to have is a PC and all the issues that come with them. My first computer was a PC and while in grad school a colleague convinced me to try a Mac to see the versatility and user friendly system that they are. On top of not having to be concerned about viruses I was able to adapt immediately and am looking at upgrading my laptop. MACS offer just as much if not more to a computer user. The initial costs are more but the computer comes with so much software that you are not in need of purchasing...

My husband and I ran a web design company for many years. I handled all the invoicing and he did all the creative work. At that time we only had windows machines. Once the company was built up we sold it so that we could persue our passions. My husband birthed a new company as a marketing manager to high-end clients and I began a blog for families in my area. I began working daily on the blog and spent hours updating the calendar, adding images, etc. It was time consuming but I loved it. Three months into my work our outdated windows computer crashed. I was devastated.
Fortunately, my husband's...
read full review »We purchased an iMac and at first I had to admit it was hard for me...a computer challenged person who had finally learned how to e-mail and to go on the web to change in any way. I have to admit however, that once I got used to closing on the upper left instead of the upper right that I was in love. This computer lets you goof and live to e-mail another day. I also have become adept at downloading my digital photos and e-mailing those. It is so much easier to edit and crop photos on the iphoto program than the several others we had on our old pc. Also the computer downsizes your photos...

Just got it Christmas of 2008. Apple has contacted me so many times just to offer their services if I needed anything. Has anyone out there heard of such service these days? I have had a great time with the iphotos. Have not had to worry about viruses, or the thing going off for no reason. It is really fast. If I had a business out of my home, this would be the perfect computer to run it with. I love the 20" screen too, one...
read full review »I got my iMac to replace Macbook pro that was getting old, and it was unbelievably satisfying. Like all Mac products, installation was a snap. It runs all applications super smoothly, even graphic-heavy ones, and never ever crashes. The display is gorgeous, so much so that we watch movies and internet TV on it more often than on our TV. Most visitors point out that it looks awesome, because it's a truly stunning machine, and the display is just so crisp and bright. My only issue is that the minimum brightness setting is not dim enough for evenings when the room is dark, so it can get a little tiring...

I was a 100% PC-user and my husband was a 100% mac user and this year we were due to buy a new computer. we discussed getting 2; inexpensive laptops or desktops to use; one a PC and one a Mac, but then realized how foolish that would be considering neither of us is on the computer all that much (because we are on the computer at our jobs all day long)
so we went to the Mac store at our local mall, and i fooled around on the iMac to get a feel for if i would like using a mac. and i loved it! its so easy
i would say the only...
read full review »The apple imac has the speed and ability to perform many tasks. It is multi versatile and can be used formaking movies slde shows. The iphoto has the capability to reconize facial features and putting them in a certain folder. It isn't allways 100 % but it is pretty good. The speed on my computer is very fast and when downloading or uploading files youca save a lot of time. I don't do many grafics anymore but when I need to I can do farily well.
If you are looking to switch to a user friendly computer this is it. It is definitely worth the extra money to get the quality it is. The set up is easy straight out of the box just like they say. It's also great not having a bulky wire mess, it's almost like having a lap top but still the luxury of having a desktop.
After many years of a PC we decided to add a IMAC to our house. it is amazing and works without any problems. The service and genuis bar at apple is great and no one makes excuses for anything. SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
