As a life long PC user, the iMac 24' has won me over

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Introduction

I have been using Windows machines for 20 years.  I worked at Microsoft in 1992 when they launched Windows 3.1.  So, as you can see, I don't come by my decision to switch to a Mac lightly.  So why did I do it?  First, I have had it with the system crashes that come out of now where.  And like many people, I am drawn to the clean design of the Apple computers.  And now of course that I have been using the iMac 24" for the past few months I now see what I was often told.  The software itself (Leopard) is more stable and faster than Windows.

The Back Story

So I am a sucker for good design and a stable responsive operating sys...

I LOVE MY iMAC and wouldn't trade it for anything

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I purchased my new 24 inch screen iMac in the fall of 08.  The shopping experience was first rate.  I arranged an appointment time with a sales person and proceeded to tell him what I use my computer for.  We found the exact model I wanted, and discovered it was available online for $150 cheaper.

When I plugged it in at home, it found my internet connection on its own and basically did full set up nearly hands free. Also, I have the ability to partician EASILY to use part of the mac as a windows OS if I wanted to.  Next, I use an Elgato Eyetv link with it to get all my cable stations, plus the extra digital stations that I can't access for some reason with my cable...

1st time Apple user, I'm in love

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

So I have never used or even been around an Apple computer, basically because I heard they were different setup and platform than the pc's I've used all my life. Recently, my fiance was given one that an employer was no longer using. It is an Apple iMac 15. So far I cannot say enough good things about it! It is wireless, so it can be moved anywhere in the room that it can plug into an outlet and that's the only thing it needs, which I love we have it on a rolling computer desk so I can use it in my room, my daughters room, the living room, wherever. It's also got a great picture quality, we watched wovies on it the other night and have no complaints, other than it took me a good 2 hours to f...

iMac: It just works.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have had the same 20" iMac for approximately one year.  Where to begin?  I had always used Windows before getting this computer, but I had had so many problems both with Windows, and the computers that I had run it on, that I wanted to make a switch.

At the time, I was working towards a graduate degree, so one of the biggest requirements for me was that it would be able to run the software that I needed for my degree: MATLAB, Microsoft Office, plus the usual email.  I also wanted to have my music and budget software for personal use, and a couple of games thrown in the mix.

Virtually every program I have wanted to run has been available to use on Apple OSX, which performs ...

Very Nice computer

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Okay i would like to say that the Apple iMac is a Good computer i Enjoy it VERY much it is definatly a buy. My best friend owns a iMac and he is a mac addict he would reccoment this as 5 star.... But i would rate it as a three star because i dont like the cost of a mac very mcuh it can cost up to Five hundered- Up to 1 thousand dollars or more

The mac is a great computer though it is quick in internet, Good iwht games And smooth very Smooth, But Alot of games are created for Windows. If you are a computer gamer i would not suggest buying the mac, If you are A Coder howver the mac is PERFECT.

If you use a mac when coding it is almost certain that you wont Kill the program Or something bad happenes in windows, While using a mac it might be hard to use Some games Because alot of games are high priced because it costs alot to Make it for iMac

Honostly i would really suggest buying the imac because it is very useful in many situation where windows would fail.

I think I love my iMac more than my husband? LOL!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I truly am kidding but if my husband could do all that my iMac could...

I'm a former PC user.  The iMac razzled and dazzled me and the 18 months no interest deal was added sugar.

We had five people sharing one PC that was only about a year old.  I finally decided enough was enough and bought a second computer.  I've had the iMac for about 2 short weeks and I"m in love.

Fast, efficient and really, not too much of a learning curve.  I'm only frustrated that I can't see my PC on the networked iMac but from what I read, that is primarily a Vista issue in sharing.  I'll figure that out.

iLife? Awesome.  Garage Band? Will be a...

Beautiful, Brawny, Blissful Computing Experience

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The family computer (a six year old Dell desktop) refused to boot. Microsoft Windows XP decided to take a permanent holiday. My family was starting to grumble about the lack of a computer in our home. What was I to do?A year ago I started using a Apple MacBook Pro at work and had bid Microsoft Windows adieu. This seemed like the perfect moment to switch over to a Mac at home. I considered the Apple Mac Mini since I did have the screen, keyboard and mouse from the Dell, but evaluating what hardware (processor, video card, web cam, speakers, hard drive, RAM, etc.) you got with the iMac, I decided that it was actually a better deal to go with the iMac instead of t...

Lovely, lovely, lovely

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This was my first foray into the world of macs, and I love it.  After the initial frustration, this was easy to use (on top of being absolutely lovely).  We had some technical problems with it about a year in, and were thrilled when we took it to the apple store and the genius there was able to replace the entire unit free of charge (and we didn't even have an extended warranty; it was just covered by their standard plan).  We were so impressed that we  hurried to buy the extended care plan.  After years of worthless (and pricey) extended warranty plans from big box stores, I was really thrilled!

BEST COMPUTER I HAVE EVER OWNED

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I was a pc user for the longest time till I got tried of the typical headaches with PC . I decided to give Apple a try and bought there all in one iMac. I have to say it took me longer to get it out of the box then it did to set it up and start using it! Amazing three wires, one for the keyboard, mouse and power to get you going! If you want to get rid of the keyboard and mouse wires Apple has both in blue-tooth again very easy to set up. Hooking it to the Internet was easy. I plugged it in and it was done! Same when I went wireless. Installed software followed the instructions and I had wireless Internet in my house. I cant tell you how much easier it is to live with a mac than a PC. I spend more time now surfing the net, playing games, getting work done then trying to figure out what virus or what went wrong with my PC!

Once you go MAC, you'll never go back!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The iMac is something that everyone should have.  It's user-friendly, compact, and sleek and modern.  The iMac is perfect for someone that has never used a MAC before, but would like to try one.  They are reasonably priced and take up very little space.  Everything is contained in the screen, so you don't have a big bulky tower.  Also, you don't have to worry about viruses and bugs and all the junk that goes with that.  I love the freedom I have with a MAC.  Also, most of the good programs have a MAC version, so that shouldn't steer you away from getting one.  The MAC might cost more than a PC, but you definitely get what you pay for...the money is well worth it!

Awesome Computer, Must-Buy, No Viruses

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This computer is unbelievable. I don't know how I was able to live without it. Once you go Mac you can't go back. You can run Microsoft Office on a Mac, and exchange documents with Windows users. The interface is superior and much, much easier to learn and use than Windows. If you have certain programs that are still Windows only (which is very few these days) you have 3+ options to run the Windows operating system on the Mac at the same, and sometimes better, speed than a native Windows machine. With the over 114,000 viruses out there, you can't get a single one on a Mac. Macs these days are the same, if not cheaper, than Windows machines with the same specifications. Since it's all-in-one,...

I will never own another computer after this one I love it!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I had been debating for a while which computer I was going to get.  I had previously owned a Dell and assumed I would buy another since mine was about 3 years old.  My sister had purchased a mac before me and I loved to use hers.  I still wasn't sure If I was going to like it because I was so used to a PC.  Now that I have it, I am sticking with the mac.  It is so user friendly and has so many aspects to it that I enjoy.  I love the fact that I can download shows and movies off itunes and watch them right on my computer.  It is a great size screen and saves so much room compared to other desk tops.  If you are thinking about purchasing a computer I strongly reccomend the imac!

A great computer for a non-technical person.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I bought the iMac INtel 20 inch about nine months ago. I have had several Mac products in the past, but this one is surely the best as they always seem to improve. I like that the unit takes up very little space as everything is built right in. The CD/DVD drives are right in the monitor, as is the hard drive. The unti comes with some really interesting stuff, such as music software (which I really have no use for) and widgets (mini programs) which allow you check certain information with the touch of a button on the mouse.

The best feature of Mac products is that they are very simple to use. Every program works similar and I find the best way to learn how to use a program is to just do ...

An amazing computing experience. Apple has a winner!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Forget Windows and especially forget Vista and all of its problems. Apple keeps getting better and better with its Macintosh computer line-up. Actually a pioneer in the computer industry, Mac computers are fluid, intuitive, secure and actually enjoyable to use. You spend less time worrying about configuration and security issues, and more time enjoying your computing experience and being productive. The new iMacs are amazing. Extremely functional, simple and beautiful to look at. The footprint is so small; a laptop takes up more space on my computer desk. And the new version of OSX is amazing; you have to see it and experience it to believe it.

apple iMac - so cool

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Apple iMac is the only computer I would consider.  No bothering with Windows and

all the problems associated with it.  Viruses don't seem to attack an apple computer and there are so many easy programs to install.  You can be technology challenged and still

able to use this computer.  There are lots of things you can do with graphics that you can't do on another PC.  The only downside is that some companies are PC based and are not

compatible with Apple computers.  That is a source of some frustration but the benefits easily outweigh the disadvantages.

The IMac is also much cooler looking than most PC, sleek and does not take up as much room.

All in all this is a great product and Apple is constantly updating it and making it better.
