Apple iMac Desktop Computer Review

I have used an iMac computer several times and absolutely love them! First of all they have a very slick design and simply appear classy even before they are turned on. Once they are on I like how user friendly everything is. The doc at the bottom of the screen allows me to have one touch access to the programs that I use most often without cluttering up my desktop. Even the programs are easy to use. The multimedia programs are surprisingly easy to use. IMovie is great for making and editing videos. During student teaching, we had to make a video of ourselves teaching (mine was about an hour long) and edit it down to 20 min using IMovie then burn it to a CD so it played using quick time. While I normally don't have to much trouble on a computer making things work, I know several people who do and they were able to complete this project with little trouble. The program gives simple directions, and access to several features without having to search. Anything beyond that can be found easily using the help topic on the program bar.

While I love this product, there are some things that take a little getting used to, esp. if you are mostly a PC user. First thing is the price. A mac is normally more expensive then its PC counter part. Also some of the little things PC users have become accustom to. On a mac there is no right click. So knowing the command to bring up the right click menu is a must! (CTRL+Click). Also the Microsoft Office is a lot different. I can make anything on word that I need to make, but I do find it easier to do on a PC. I first became familiar with word on a PC and know where everything is at, using a MAC not so much, but with a little more practice it will be just as comfortable. It is just like going from Word 97 to Word 2007.

Overall I love using the iMac Desktop and have had no problems with it. I would recommend it to anyone who asks.
