This computer is perfect for someone looking for a small light weight computer to travel with. Even though it is small you are not missing out on any of the system or memory components of a larger computer. This little machine will keep you working long hours anywhere you want with its long lasting(6 hr) battery.

My wife and I bought this Apple iBook 12.1 in. computer for general usage and some home business applications. It was an utter disappointment. It was severely underpowered.  Multi-tasking was out of the question. Even having more than one tab or browser window open noticeably hampered performance. The only positive thing that I can say about it was that it was lightweight and compact. That and Macs seem to depreciate in value slower than Windows PCs. When I sold it, I was able to get almost what I paid for it when I ordered directly from Apple which is definitely a good thing. I had own a mac computer in the past and was aware of the compatibilty issues that abound for Mac users.  I was under the irroneous notion that this situation had improved over the years but much to my dismay, I quickly disovered how wrong I was.  There were certain programs that I needed to run for my web building projects that I could only use on my Windows PC.  Thankfully this wasn't a major issue bacuse we own multiple computers.  The main thing we bought the Apple IBook for was portability but the 12 inch screen's visibility was terrible in natural light.  You could barely see the screen when viewing it outside during the day.

Having grown up using Microsoft and PC's, when I first decided to buy a laptop there wasn't a whole lot I knew about Apple, let alone Apple ibooks.  It was my husband that persuaded me to go for an Apple, and after doing some research I decided the ibook was a good choice for me.  I am so happy with it, too!  I've had the same laptop for the last 5 years, and have only needed to have it fixed once, and it was something with the CD-ROM.  The size of this laptop is perfect... not too small, not too big (at least for me, anyway).  The software is very user friendly, but I'm not the hugest fan on AppleWorks... I would still prefer Microsoft Word, but thats just me.  The memory and speed are great, and I have wireless internet, so carrying this around is very simple.  I'll probably need a new laptop in the next year or two, but I plan on sticking with Apple.  Theres just no other brand that compares.  My in-laws have a Dell, and they are constantly having problems with it!
