The Apple iPod Shuffle makes no pretensions. It is a simple, small, music player---but what a music player! The sound is terrific, what everyone has come to expect from Apple. You use iTunes to load it with music, then take it with you to the gym for something to listen to while you work out. It is small, but there are very few people who will work out longer than it takes to play all the songs that fit on the Shuffle. The player is sturdy, which is important in the gym or if you are taking it for a run.
