Apple Macbook Review

My daughter bought a Mac against my better judgement, but she really wanted one.  We went to the Apple store for the purchase and after a hard sell from the clerk, also bought the extended warranty.  We also bought all the protective cases and covers available to protect her purchase (Mac's tend to be more expensive than comparable PC's - in my opinion anyway).  This well cared for and never abused computer's screen broke after about a year.  Guess what this is not covered, we were assured that the whole computer was covered when we bought it.  They claimed that only abusing the computer by leaving it in hot or cold weather would cause this and it was our fault.  The computer was never left in these conditions, nor was it dropped, squashed, or banged around.  Since they refused to cover it under the warranty they wanted over $800 to replace the screen on a $1500 dollar computer. (The screen can be bought for a couple of hundred dollars on line, seems like Apple would be paying less!)  They did end up returning the fee for the extra coverage we bought. My daughter went back to using her HP which has run without a problem for over 3 years now. 

We will never buy another item from Apple, not just because it broke, but because they refused to take care of it.  I am positive this was not my daughter fault (She is 22 and very careful with her things)  If we had bought this at Best Buy, it would have been fixed or repaired.  I'm afraid Macs are not for us.
