This is my first Mac experience as an owner. I've owned a desktop "pc" for the last 15 years and feel like I spent most of my time either trying to figure out why it wouldn't do what I wanted it to do or trying to find the right person that could come and bail me out. One year after spending $1000 to update our "pc" so I could continue with my work, my son made the comment that I could go out and nearly buy a new Macbook for what we were spending in a matter of months on our old computer. I kept researching the pros and cons of "pc" vs Mac and finally decided to give this Macbook a try. My son has a Macbook Pro that got him through four years of college, and a year after graduating he still has never had to take it in for a "tune up" (I was told that computers need this like any car would) or had any problems with it. He's added features to it but it has never cost him repair bills and he was a Photo/Magazine Journalism major and artist who used and uses it daily for all types of graphics work and has run several small business from it. When confronted with a problem starting up my Macbook one morning, I took it in to our Apple store and received quick and friendly service from their tech who in a matter of seconds opened it up with a twitch of his fingers and some friendly advice about computer organization. He offered to meet for free and help me transition into my new Mac from my "pc". My fears were quickly alleviated.
