Years ago I was a Mac user and loved it and, in fact, have a Mac in my closet that I bought in '96 and used for about 25 hours but it didn't comply with our house network so it was packed away.
Last summer I wore out my 3rd Dell notebook with the same consistent problem created in the way I use them and dislodge the plug-in from the board. My son decided enough was enough and gave me my current Macbook which is working very well to solve my problem because of the magnetic power cord attachment, although I wish it were on the right. I confess that I have, however, that I have already purchased a new power cord having worn the connection to the magnet in two.
The machine doesn't crash like the olden days Mac. I do get lots of errors but that's all - they just go to an error file and the little machine keeps on ticking - like Timex. I've had problems with it when I leave it "on" and just walk away without closing out what I'm doing... it won't let me back in... the screen stays black and won't turn on or off. I will have to screw around with turning it on and off.... on and off... several times... then finally it will turn off. Then I have to turn it on again ... like rebooting it. It's best to always get out of everyting and close the lid when you leave - even for 5 minutes or so.
I LOVE the Macbook itself but there are just a couple of things I don't care for about Apple per se. One... their applications are still so expensive and most things are uncompatible. The plus of Apple is that their help online and instore is UNBELIEVABLE! The best help ever and you don't wait forever either way. I can't say enough about that - I've never been treated better or helped more eagerly that at Apple.
