I currently use the Apple MacBook Pro 17" it is a great computer! Since I am a graphic designer I find that this computer has the ability for me to use all of Creative Suite 3 simultaneously without any of the programs crashing! As with all Apple products it is easy to set up various work stations on one computer for various users. The updating process is super easy as well and allows you to omit items that you don't need. I love the fact that you can customize your desktop and also set actions to do things that you do repeatedly to save you time and work more efficiently. This computer has the...

The Apple MacBook Pro 17" is not a "laptop." Apple qualifies it as a notebook computer.  It actually gets far too hot sometimes to be held on a lap.  In any case, it is tempting to hold it on one's lap, as it is light and the same form factor as any laptop.  One will notice that the battery can become extremely hot while it is charging, and hot enough to become uncomfortable, and possibly cause burns.  At one time, the battery in my PC got so hot that it warped and deformed the case around it, making it difficult to click the mouse button until I was able to flex and bend the case back into...

I was researching laptops for months just because I was in college and a laptop seems to be a necessity for me. Since I'm also an art major, I've heard from my graphic designer/art buddies that Macs are the best to use just because the color is more vivid and bright. So, I decided to buy a refurbished Apple MacBook Pro 17" recently (around 7 months ago) through the Apple store website.

The laptop was delivered with the MAC OSX CD software, the MagSafe Battery Adapter (it comes in two parts. You're going to have to manually put them together, but it's quite simple), an Everything Mac guide booklet,...

I've had my MacBook Pro 17" for a full year now. It was purchased to replace a laptop PC that was on it's last legs and a desktop PC that was beginning to show signs of it's age. The original laptop has gone on to it's reward, but the desktop is still working fine.
The reason for the purchase of an Apple rather than another PC was the bad information I had from geeks and techies I know about Vista.

it was a little scary to use the Apple at first, but I've grown to love it. The keyboard is much more comfortable than any PC laptop that I've used. Microsoft Office for Mac has been installed and a...

Since the mid-1980s, I used PCs. A friend told me I was a Mac person. The last time I had to purchase a new computer, I decided to try a Mac and see if I liked it.

When I got home with my computer, I plugged it in and took off. I literally had to pry myself away from the computer, it was so user friendly and versatile, I couldn't believe it!

I'm a creative person, left-handed, musician and writer. I found with garage band I could instantly record and edit my songs, I could get my flute into my computer where I could record and edit, effortlessly.

And don't even get me started about getting...

This is my 4th Mac laptop, so I have many years of experience using them. And by far, my MacBook Pro (I have the 17") has been the best I've had.

It's large enough to have a comfortable screen even to do graphics and heavy photoshop and still be small and light enough to travel (since I travel with it quite often!).

I only wish the battery would last for more than an hour if I use it unplugged (I guess I could always get a new one, but...), but other than that, it really has been a work horse. I'm a freelancer, so I use my computer every day and sometimes keep it on for days on end. And I rarely...

This is the best Mac Laptop I've ever used.  I've had several models over the years, starting with an iBook in blue, which cannot compare to this model.  The battery life could be longer, but that is not really an issue.  I really like the keyboard, which is a soft-touch type of key use.  The large screen is extremely clear and vibrant.  The size can make it a little awkward to travel with at times, but once I found the right-sized carry case, the problem is no longer an issue.  The weight is very light and makes it easy to travel with.  Of course, the best part is the fact that Mac is so...

I enjoy my Apple laptop. The screen is large and the keypad is sleek and comfortable to use. The only draw back is that it gets very hot. I've had to replace the battery three times. I don't think the current versions have this issue. The heat issue has caused some other problems. The case has warped a bit and the latch doesn't work. I opted to repair instead of replace. A short time after the repair, the battery had to be replaced again. Apple replaced it for free, but the latch doesn't work again. If it didn't have these issues it would be perfect.

I'm a MacPro user and finally picked up my  17" Macbook Pro. The only thing I miss is the extended keyboard. While I picked up a wireless mouse, I do love the track pad. It is very simple to manipulate and customize. 7 hours of battery life is probably not quite 7, but it does seem to last me most of the day. The anti-glare screen doesn't bother me. I am a graphic designer working with food images and am not bothered with other reviews of "dullness" of color. Love my new laptop!

The 17" Mac Book Pro is fast, reliable, and unique.  I can use it as a laptop and desktop at the same time.  I do not need a second computer since it's powerful enough to do all my tasks.
