Most HelpfulAfter using MS Windows for over 15 years, I switched to a Mac—and I'm not going back. OSX is fantastic. The MacBook Pro comes with a host of extras: lit keyboard, built in video camera, video card that can drive a 30" display, fast processor, and easily upgradable memory. The 15" form factor is pretty...

Most HelpfulAbout a year ago I start a new job in which our development environment is the Mac Book Pro. In my previously life I had been a pretty hard core Linux guy -- I only used Windows when I had to. Moving to the mac platform has been a joy. Having the best of breed user interface coupled with a real command prompt is paradise.
The Mac just seems more natural. You have what you need and it is simple and straight forward. No more struggling with the package maintenance headaches that come with Linux or the frustration of Windows inconsistencies and brittleness. I can run my Mac Book Pro at work all day,...
review »We were Mac users years ago. As my family grew and increased computer needs and wants, Mac software options did not; so, we became PC users. I, being a desktop publisher missed my Mac. We currently have a reasonably new PC desktop, but jumped at the chance to get a Mac laptop. All the reasons I loved Macs are still there and now there is no longer a problem with software compatibility... I have anything a PC has and with greater flexibility and ease of use.
The customer service at the Apple store has been unbelievable from before purchase to now - 10 months later! We bought Apple Pro...
review »I was worred about changing to the apple brand. (i've been a PC user for 15 years)
I don't like vista, so I had to make the change. I feel that was the best thing I've done in years. Yes it's some learning crave, but within A week I forgot all about Windows.
I tested my apple with my HP using XP Pro, and the apple faster in every way.
Plus It's lighter cooler (you could have it on your lap all day without any burning legs.) It only uses 85 watts of power, longer battery life.
I'll never go back

It’s hard to believe that it’s only been four years since I made the switch to a Mac. My first Mac was an Apple MacBook Pro 15 Core 2 Duo (read my review here) and it served me well. Recently I was given the opportunity to upgrade my hardware to the latest and greatest version of the Apple MacBook Pro 15” Unibody and I took it.
So how does an already great laptop become even better?
The most obvious improvement is processor speed, but that can be said about any laptop. Yes my new laptop is graced with a 3.06 GHz dual core Intel processor, but more importantly, the latest generation of MacBook...
I spent the first two years of college fiddling around with three different laptops - two Sony Vaios and one Dell - all of which had malfunctioned in one form or another within six months of the purchase date. None of those laptops were used, either. I gave up on PCs in March 2006 and bought my first Apple: a PowerBook G4. Imagine my suprise when after the first week of use I tried to my Mac on in class and only received a black screen staring me in the face. I immediately took my PowerBook to the Genius Bar at my local Mac store and demanded to know why my fourth computer in two years had blown...
review »Carved from a single block of aluminum, the MacBook Pro is a true engineering achievement. Its unibody enclosure is the product of precise machining. From the thumbscoop to the now-you-see-it-now-you-don’t sleep indicator light, no detail is unaccounted for. The end result is a notebook that’s not only breakthrough, but thin, light, polished, and refined. The unibody also makes MacBook Pro more durable than ever. So you can throw it in your briefcase or messenger bag and pull it out at an airport, at school, at the office, or on location without a second thought.Built right into each of the...
review »We unfortunately switched to Dell computers a few years back. Everyone was soooo happy. They were so tired of the "tired, slow machines" and when we got the new ones - wow - so much better. DUH!!! The MAC's we had were ten years old, had little memory and were networked with a computer not a real server. I was sullen and thought, well if we had to have PC's at work, I'd better get a PC at home. BAD MISTAKE. Wow what a bad mistake. But we puttered along with that PC for several years, getting it serviced almost every six months, several hundred bucks each time. Finally, I'd had enough. That's it...
