Apple MacBook Pro — 

Great product -- met and exceeded my expectations.  I had been a mac user from the early days (got the original Macintosh in 1984), but due to work, switched to a PC many years ago.  When it became possible to run Windows on a Mac (real Windows, not an emulation), it allowed me to return to a mac and I love it.  I now spend most of my time on the mac side only going to Windows for those programs that I can't run under the Mac OS. 

The design and durability of the MacBook Pro (MBP) is outstanding.  I did have a problem in the first month I owned my MBP (some kind of error message kept popping up -- can't recall exactly what it was), but when I took it to the Apple Store, the simply gave me a new unit and have been trouble free since until a week ago (over a year and a half later) when my MagSafe power adapter went on the blink.  I took that to the Apple Store and the promptly replaced that too -- no charge.  I do have AppleCare which extends the coverage to 3 years.

The price is a bit high, but the product is great.  If you are a Windows user, this is a great way to try out a Mac -- if you don't like it, you still can have a fully functional and very respectable Windows machine -- the best of both worlds.

Thanks for your kind words Rainny. Are you thinking about getting a MacBook? I actually may be buying my sister one today (her $, I'd just be the purchasing agent so to speak -- what fun!!!) at the new Apple Store in Chelsea in New York City. If you've never been to an Apple store, give yourself a treat and stop in one (maybe wait until after the holidays, especially if you are at all a npn-lover of big crowds) -- they are very cool places, especially the bigger ones.

Well, I'm starting to go on and on. All I really wanted to say was thank you.

The Apple MacBook Pro has in fact been rated the fastest laptop for running Windows Vista (not that I recommend it for that purpose - I still prefer OSX). Good review.
