Apple MacBook Pro —
The MacBook Pro comes closer to living up to its hype than any other product I have ever bought. It is so much better than any PC laptop I've ever used (and I used many over the course of my career as a financial manager) that I actually paid for it myself.I was always taking my laptops in to our techies for servicing, but I set the Mac up in five minutes by myself, and every minor problem I have had has been solved by a phone call to the service line -- which actually gets answered reasonably quickly by someone who knows what he/she is talking about.
The Mac never crashes -- no blue screen of death! And no viruses or spyware have been able to get in because the OS security is so strong.
I am an avid photographer, and now that I am retired, I have plenty of time to take pictures and play with them. The Mac screen is gorgeous, and my photos look spectacular.
My only caveats are that it is not so fast as everyone says. That could be because my hard drive is so full that there is not enough room for the system to move files rapidly, but it is still a bit of a disappointment.
Since the Mac has a smaller piece of the market, some software makers don't bother to make compatible programs. If there is anything that you must have, make sure it is available first.
