My first personal computer was an Apple SEII. Self-contained, 8" screen, no graphics, green text on a black background. I think it had a 512K hard drive. I kid you not. I then moved on to a PowerMac. Eventually, I was forced to use an IBM-based PC, for professional reasons.

Now, all these years...

50% of these things in my office have completely shut down. Just crapped out. Maybe we're doing something wrong? Not to mention it's hard to even make a PDF or PPT that works on PCs.

And can talk about how awful these things look when they get dirty. It's gross. Get a black one is my suggestion.

I never thought I would buy a Mac, ever. I heard some great reports from friends, and even noodled around a bit ... but it always seemed the price point was just too high for me to justify.

Then my laptop died right about the same time Vista came out. I wanted no part of that, and buying a laptop only to re-install XP on it seemed like a waste. I have a unix background and had been debating just putting Linux on a Dell or something, but couldn't find a comperable laptop (size wise) for the price, really. I paid $999 (MacMall) for the 2Ghz model with a small (60GB hard drive) and then bought...

Apple MacBook

Three years ago I completed a doctorate degree in Education.  My husband surprised me for my hours and hours and hours of work on my Dell laptop that was missing individual key covers and had a screen that always looked like it had a bad hangover with an Apple MacBook.  I was delighted and yet cautious.  I didn't even know if I would like an Apple MacBook.  I had talked to people who loved theirs but I had no experience with one at all.

It is safe to say that I've had a Mac Attack and I'll never go back.

Let's go ahead and get one thing off the table that may make techno...

I upgraded to a new Vista laptop last year, and have been unhappy and frustrated with it from the start. I decided to replace it with a Mac and as designated tech support for my family and friends, I started learning everything I could about Mac before she started asking questions. The more I learned about it, the more I wanted one for myself, and now that I have one, I am really kicking myself for not switching last year.

It's simply beautiful. I know it sounds like I drank the apple-flavored Kool-Aid, but the Macbook really is a marvel of elegant form and function. It feels solid and substantial,...

I love my macbook. The size is great and I carry it in my purse. The battery life is good for working in coffee shops.  Setting up digital cameras is always a breeze as was settting up the wireless printing with my airport.  My only complaint is the occasional software that I can't use because there isn't MAC compatibility.  Whenever I have a problem, the Mac Geniuses are able to help me down at the Apple store, but problems have rarely occured.

At first I was a little skeptical of the Mac-craze. I knew a few of those "mac-happy" people who put the little apple bumper stickers on their car, and talked about Apple products all day long. It sort of freaked me out a little, and I didn't want to give in to their admonishments. However, when I went to purchase a new laptop, I found myself buying a brand new Apple Macbook. I fell in love from the first moment. It was slightly different to use at first, with different buttons to do different things, and the x-out being on the left not the right (terribly complicated! lol). But this was the best... read full review »

After many years of using and building PC's I finally decided to try out a Mac.  My first one was 4 years ago.  It was an Emac.  My husband likes it and I have NO Viruses.  I still bought PC laptops and used them along with my Mac.  Now with the duo core technology I have the best of both worlds on my MacBook!

I'm reviewing Apple's New 13" Macbook with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. It's processor speed runs to 2 GHz with a Bus speed of 1.07 GHz. Standard memory is set to two DDR2 SDRAM 1 GB, with a speed of 667 MHz. Like most computers, it has bluetooth enabled and a built audio speaker and iSight webcam. It has the ability to parallel PC programs from windows 98 to the current versions. Thee touch pad has more sensitivity and is easier to use and control just as well as a normal mouse. With the new Leporad software installed, the computer can process at fast paced speeds with little interuption...

13-inch: Black Macbook:

I recently purchased the new Macbook for college this fall. After a week I have officialy switched over from using my Vista Desktop to my new laptop. Everything is easier to accomplish from checking my email with the press of a button (dashboard) to the graphic design work I create in Photoshop. Simple design and interface with a sleek profile, the Black Macbook has been one of my favorite purchases. The 13-inch screen may seem small compared to competitors but its crisp graphics remove any doubts about its size. I am 100% satisifed with my purchase, and have found no difficulties...

I used to be all about the PC until I was confronted with the issue of being stuck at home after moving into my boyfriends apartment and only having a Mac to use.  He won't allow a PC in his home.  So either I sat and watched tv all day (boooring) or I learned how to use a Mac despite being nervous since I'd never used one before.  Last thing I wanted was to break a new Macbook on my boyfriend.  Ever since then my Macbook and I have been inseperable. I can never go back to a PC and feel the same about it again.  In over a year I have never once had a problem with my Mac.  That's more than... read full review »

I just purchased my Apple MacBook a few months ago. It took me a few weeks to really get the hang of everything because I was a PC user before and the set-up is a little different. I had difficulty transferring my iTunes from my PC to my new Mac, which extremely annoyed me. However, I figured it out and am happy with my purchase overall. This laptop is great. It has a lot of fun programs like Stickies and Photo Booth. The graphics are amazing. I had no problem uploading photographs from my digital camera. It's definitely a little expensive but it's worth the price. The main drawbacks are the price...

I've been using a Mac at home since 1995, and have used IBM compatibles at work for just as many years. There is nothing like a Mac for user friendliness. No error messages, and viruses are almost nonexistent.

The Macbook is a nicely sized, easy to use laptop, that has gone on vacation with me many times, and has always been compatible with hotel wi-fi systems and is tough enough to make it through airport security over and over again. I use iPhoto to download my digital pictures on the go, and my iTunes can keep me company in my hotel room. The speakers are not the best, and probably is...

I would begin by saying that I was a little scare when I first bought my MAC, being a PC user all my life I thought it was going to be a pain learning how to use a new operating system. But once I turned my MAC on I became a MAC lover, the interface is so easy to use that I didn't really need to relearn as much as what I thought. Everything is a keystroke or click away when your using a MAC, and the best part of all is that if you do find yourself not knowing how to use a program or if something goes wrong with your MAC, all you have to is called Apple's friendly customer service which has always...

This computer is amazing. I wanted a Mac for so long and I thought switching over from a PC would be difficult...it turned out to be totally simple! The screen is 13", super bright and glossy. Its so conviently sized and lightweight you can take it anywhere with you. The Apple Airport picks up wireless singnals easily and quickly. Another fun feature of the MacBook is the built-in iSight camera. Using the photobooth application you easily take photos of yourself and your friends, I even took a few of my dog! This laptop also makes organizing folders and files for work or school a breeze, it made... read full review »
