This simply was the best laptop I have ever used. Quick SSD, good screen size, light, reliable. Upgraded to OS X.9 for free from Apple. Make sure you get the 256GB SSD. I tried the 128GB version and had to return it. Did not have enough memory for music and photo. But the 256GB version is great for me. Battery life was excellent at the time of purchase (2011). However, the latest version of the Macbook air has 12 hours battery life and simply blows this version away. Still, this is a great laptop for travel, personal use, word processing, etc. It is not a game computer though. The fan is very low in noise level unless you push the unit (like using Flash). Then you can hear it quite clearly. Battery Life At one point, this laptop was the king of battery life, the updated version of the Macbook air has at least 2x the capacity. Speed/Performance Very quick overall because of SSD. Start up, shut down is within a few seconds.
