I bought my MacBook when my second PC laptop in two years died. I spend a lot of time online between school, work, and just randomly surfing the net. All the PC's I have ever had lasted only two years or so before they became so slow and rundown that they were barely usable.
The processing speed is more than adequate for what I do. I work in a biology lab and run a number of modeling and prediction programs on this computer and have never had any problems. It was the least expensive of all the Mac laptops available I feel that it is as good as any of the more expensive ones.
The WiFi works great, I have never had to use a wired connection with this computer. I had to buy Office seperately but it wasn't too big of an expense.
The screen resolution is great even for a smaller sized screen and I have often watched movies on my laptop with ease without having to have it resting on my lap the whole time.
Perhaps best of all is I qualified for a student discount of 10% and got a $100 mail in rebate for buying a $99 printer which basically meant it came with a free color printer.
After a year of constant use I can say that it is by far the best laptop I have ever owned.
If I had to find a complaint it is that sometimes when I install new hardware (like my wireless router for instance) I had to go to the website to find Mac Compatible software to install it. But certainly not the end of the world.
