I was converted to Macs by my now-husband back in 2003. It is probably one of the reasons why I married him! I have owned and used all the successive models of MacBooks (including the Pro and the Air), and this is the best one yet. Everything is easy to use, intuitive, and visually based. I am a visual person - I like to watch things work and know what is happening to my documents, pictures, etc. In addition to never seeing the "blue screen of death," I can transfer files from one place to another - I just pick them us (as I would in real life) and put it in the new place. Other competitive products (which I am sure I don't have to name) make you go through a "click and pick" method - opening several new screens to accomplish this task, and then pray to the God of Computing that your file actually went where you wanted it to.  Frequently, files that are being moved get thrown in random folders that you can't find.  Nothing is worse than losing stuff that you just worked on, telling your coworkers where it is (allegedly) and then finding out it is not there. I could go on and on about all of the problems I have had with the "other" laptops and desktops in just the past 6 months, but I don't want to give them anymore bandwidth.

The MacBook not only looks good, but comes with actual programs that really work - not just 30-day trial copies of software like you-know-who. All the applications work together very well - just load the program, unzip it, and go to it, even ones not produced by Apple.  I think the integration of all programs is the feature I like the best. Items/files/pictures can be used in all the other apps without any conversion processes. Long gone is the myth of incompatibility - all Microsoft products easily transfer to the Mac. Oh - one thing though - the Mac has NEWER and much improved software than is available for PCs, so if a doc is created on a Mac, you have to save it as a older version of Word. Macs work with all wireless systems, printers, and peripherals (again, unlike the other computers, but without all the extra cards, programs and disks that are needed just to make the new hardware work).

The 13" screeen that is "dissed" in commercials is actually much larger than the PC 13" screens.  The screen literally takes up the entire cover (save for about 1/16" on all sides - the glass has to have some protection! And the nifty thing - there is no glare on this glass. How do they do that!? The screen is LED backlit - which saves battery power!  The keyboard is backlit - and knows when it needs to light up! The webcam is a teeny-tiny little hole in the lid - you wouldn't even notice it if you were not told it was there. The quality of the pictures are good enough to use as passport photos - which is what I have done! No more fiddling with clip-on, clunky add-on cameras. The new model does not have any click buttons on the extra large track-pad - none are needded.  The "clicking" is seemlessly accomplished by some new type of technology (way to go Apple)!!! The power cord is not a plug-in  - it is attched cleverly with a magnet. No more tripping over the cord and sending your brand new computer crashing to the floor. The CD/DVD slot is just that - a slot in the side of the computer - no dorkey tray that can double as a drink holder on this machine! All controls for screen and keyboard brightness and volume are on the half-sized function keys.

It is blazing fast, and has a mega 250G hard drive.  This is one of those times where size IS important, as I am a more-than-amateur photographer, and I do all my editing and storage on my 13" Mac Book. If you don't need a big hard drive, then the 80G MacAir (another supurb product - my hubby owns one) is more than appropriate.

Bonus - the built-in screen saver is composed of beautiful ever-changing fractal-like patterns! Way cool!

If youo think the price s too much - then head to the Apple website and see if they have any "refurbs." These are guaranteed just like completely new ones are. Just throw on Apple Care (just like you should with ANY Apple purhase) and if any problems come up - then you are all set!

Well, that is ablout all I can say - I know the editors of this site want 900 word reviews - but heck - I like to be succinct and concise.

I bought the Macbook two and half years ago and it worked great for the first 2 years. After that the plastic covering of the screen and the key board. As the memory starts to decrease the computer does slow down a lot and  makes opening and searching for files a bit more difficult. Also the graphics on this laptop are standard but not excellent for playing the limited amount of games out there for Macs. However it is easy to use I've gotten my mom to use it very easily and even my younger siblings. It also helps accomplish most of my college assignments with ease. The garage band program comes in very handy for projects and creating new sound for those projects. Iphoto keeps the photo's automatically in order based on dates. To do all of this the battery also is impressive in one charge the battery will last up to 7 hours even when running big programs. The downfall of this is that you can only run one program at a time or else the computer starts to lag more. Lastly the power chord is great because instead of a standard plug in its a magnetized adapter that will unhook if pulled on. This helps so that if you trip over the chord it disconnects and it doesn't take the entire laptop to the ground.

MacBook is the best lap top to own!

By

from Hickory Hills, IL

Comments about Apple MacBook 13.3 in. Mac Notebook:

I have been using Macs since 1998 and, despite snide remarks by friends, continue to love them.  In 2009, two of my sons purchased a new iMac for my birthday.  Almost a year to the day later, it was stolen from my home.  This necessitated a new purchase.  I contemplated both the desktop and the laptop.  Finally decided on the laptop mainly for the portability feature.  I love the idea that I can take it with me wherever I go.

Macs are much better than PCs, in my opinion because they are much more user friendly.  You can get things done much more easily.  The creative options are outstanding.  The Macs are not as targeted for virus' as PCs are so I feel more secure.

It has taken me a while to get used to the flat keys of this lap top and I'm still getting used to using a trackpad rather than a mouse.

I greatly miss my iMac but am thrilled with this lap top. I would highly recommend that anyone who purchases a Mac product also purchase the Apple Care protection program.  It's worth the cost in the long run when things happen.  One of my sons just had his hard drive replaced, for the 2nd time in almost 3 years, free of charge because he had the Apple Care protection program.

Ease of Use
Open it open, push the power button....ready to go!

Battery Life
I usually have it plugged in but have not had any problems. If the battery is running low, I just plug it in and it recharges quickly.

Support & Service
For anyone who purchases an Apple product, I strongly recommend the additional purchase of the Apple Care Protection Plan. I normally do not purchase extended warranties but this one is well worth it. I dropped my lap top, cracking the case. Took it to my Apple Store where they replaced it free of charge, no questions asked.

Speed/Performance
Never an issue. The speed and performance are awesome.

Design
It's the perfect size and weight.

Durability
Would never recommend dropping it as I did....

Get a Mac and you'll never regret it!

By

Comments about Apple MacBook 13.3 in. Mac Notebook:

Growing up with Dell and Compaq computers, I was a PC user. When I went to college, my program required all students to get a Macbook. I was a little upset about having to switch to a Mac, in addition to the higher price tag. Boy, was I proved wrong.

A Macbook is 1000 times better than any PC laptop out there. I love how lightweight it is. I love the operating system and all the wonderful programs Apple has to offer. I love Apple's customer service. They are so friendly and want to help you with any problems you may have!

I'm currently on my 2nd Macbook. Between the two Macbooks, I've N-E-V-E-R had a virus. I've also never had my Mac freeze on me in the middle of doing something! It's definitely higher priced than other laptops but over the long run, it saves you money!

Get a Mac and you'll never go back! :)

Good and perfect

By

Comments about Apple MacBook 13.3 in. Mac Notebook:

This is great After many years of owning Apple desktop computers, I decided to get my first laptop model, a MacBook Notebook with OS X Leopard software. As a long-time Mac user for home/personal use, I prefer the ease of the Mac platform to the more cumbersome and virus-prone PCs I've used at work. This model has considerable speed with Intel's Core 2 Duo processor that runs applications fast and efficiently. It is easy to use and comes with the useful suite of iLife programs such as iPhoto and iMovie (the free classes offered at Apple's retail stores are a great way to get an overview of the computer's applications). I like that the computer has the ability to create PDF files -- this is a great feature to have for capturing online info and sending files to people, and I use it a lot. The MacBook has a nice looking, sleek design, as most Apple products do, and the compact size makes it easy to travel

Apple MacBook - 3 years and going strong.

By

from Coldwater, MS

Comments about Apple MacBook 13.3 in. Mac Notebook:

Before 2007 I only ever had experience with PCs. My family had only ever owned HPs and Dells and I had personally owned a Dell Desktop and a Dell Laptop. I did not have too many complaints about dells, but I suppose that's because I was not yet familiar with the ease and problem-free use of the Apple Macbook. When I received my Apple Notebook I was so excited when it was able to boot up in seconds! When I started the computer I did not have to deal with all the pop-ups prompting me to upload this or delete that from my desktop. It took only a hour of fiddling with my new Macbook to adjust to the one key pad (no right click). I've now had my Macbook for nearly 3 years and only recently started experiencing very minor problems. This problem was that when I tried to click on something sometimes the computer wouldn't recognize that I was clicking. So I called the Apple tech support and within minutes I received accurate and helpful advice to solve the problem and I can happily say that the problem is fixed! I would recommend an Apple to anybody!

It's easy to set up the computer. It only took me a few minutes to get the computer good and running.  Didn't have any problem since I bought it. I dropped the laptop a few time, accidently, and it is still good.  Very durable laptop.

Apple keeps the doctor away!

By

from Herndon, VA

Comments about Apple MacBook 13.3 in. Mac Notebook:

I love my Apple MacBook!!!!  Everything works great-- the applications open quickly and you can have many open at once without it slowing the computer down.  It has amazing battery life: about five hours or so, depending on what you're doing.

Everything is easy to figure out.  There is no need for any lengthy manuals or anything.  I loved customizing everything like the desktop, etc.  The photo program can connect with facebook to make it easy to upload pics.

Customer support is fantastic.  I called about my internet connection failing and they had it fixed in probably two minutes.  On my old PC it took days and days for customer service to figure out how to fix software problems, etc.  The support all spoke english (I'm sorry, but if you're fixing computers over the phone you need to speak english).

My dad worried that the thirteen inch screen would be too small, but it is just perfect.  The entire laptop is very lightweight.

Perfect machine.

The MacBook is great for everyone wanting an Apple.

By

from Santa Rosa, CA

Comments about Apple MacBook 13.3 in. Mac Notebook:

The MacBook is an interesting Laptop. It is very user friendly, and is great for everyone. It's perfect for entry level electronic musicians, video editors, programmers, or IT specialist looking to expand their repetoire. For programmers, the Xcode program is a great code compiler that can be used with most languages such as ObjC, C++, Java and more. For musicians, the amazing CoreAudio is a great audio engine, and most plug-ins work very well, with low CPU usage. For video, final cut pro is an industry standard for video editing.

For general use, the MacBook can be pricey, but the ease of use is a good point for the average user. Considering that all new MacBooks come with the basic version of iLife, the average user has access to many great programs that are useful to anyone. OS X is a great operating system, with many features to ensure that your laptop is running at it's fullest, and that you can use it however you would like to.

The Macbook is a great starter to an apple computer.

By

from Glenwood Springs, CO

Comments about Apple MacBook 13.3 in. Mac Notebook:

The Macbook has been great for what I have needed it for. I recommend it for anyone who is looking to buy a Mac and is not familiar with their products. It is a great introductory to using a computer that has more than adequate visual media programs. I would suggest upgrading, for those who want to dabble more in photo and video editing programs. I started out as a novice photographer and will soon be ready to move up to a more advanced computer that accommodates more of my needs.

Some of the other things I love about this Macbook is that it is so portable and light. Im able to take it with me wherever I travel, and it doesn't take up too much space, being only a 13 inch laptop. I watch most of my movies on my Macbook, it has amazing video quality that provides a clear picture of whatever it is I'm viewing. If you're a person who uses a computer/laptop mostly for internet surfing, email, movies, pictures, etc., I would definitely recommend this Macbook to you.

Awesome!

By

from Crofton, MD

Comments about Apple MacBook 13.3 in. Mac Notebook:

The first thing you notice about the new MacBook is its sleek aluminum shape. The tight corners of the old MacBook are gone, replaced with the softly rounded edges of the MacBook Air. Like the Air, the subtle curve makes picking up the MacBook easier, and it rests quite comfortably in the lap for typing.

Lifting the lid reveals the contrasting black glass screen and black keycaps. Instead of the traditional plastic or metal bezel surrounding an LCD panel, a single glass face covers both, extending all the way to the edges of the lid. The effect is even more striking here than in the iMac which introduced the style.

The MacBook has the same love-it-or-hate-it chiclet-style keyboard as its predecessor. (The more expensive model adds backlit keys to sweeten the deal.)

The aluminum MacBook's redesigned trackpad is huge, and the button is gone: instead, the trackpad itself is the button.

The new MacBook is visually striking, bringing the design of the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air to Apple's consumer price point.

And the beauty of that sleek chassis is much more than skin deep. Traditionally, laptops have combined internal framework and external body panels in an intricate assembly with dozens of screws and hundreds of components. The MacBook's main chassis isn't assembled from parts this way — instead, a single block of aluminum is machined into what Apple calls the "unibody" chassis, carved like a sculpture. The computer's circuit boards are mounted to the underside of this chassis, and a thin, light bottom plate closes it up.

best product u eva bought !!!

By

from New York, NY

Comments about Apple MacBook 13.3 in. Mac Notebook:

i purchase my macbook during the day of my birthday, and i must say, this is the best and worthy product that i ever purchased. the macbook comes in about 6 models, depending if you are a gamer, i recommend u a macbook pro. but the awesomeness of this product is that any game you install will still work great. i have a 2.4 ghz, 250gb drive, alluminium unibody, 14 inch and best of all the latest graphic from nvidia. whats cool about a mac is that you dont have to spent a dime for any antivirus programs, because macs resistant to viruses. the alluminium body make the macbook durable. its very rare to get a scracth on that solid thing. the 2.4ghz model has the backlit keyboard which means you can work in a dark room and still see what your typing. the trackpad is unbelievable, and once you get used it, you will love it.

the cons of this computer is the glass screen, which means that light will be reflected from the screen, from that you wont be able to see cleary, overall, this is the best computer in the computer industry.
