Apple Mac Mini —
I purchased this little guy about 4 years ago and he's still going strong. It works on a laptop hd which doesn't seem to affect it negatively. I used this comp to switch from a pc to mac. I was able to use my other peripherals, this is one of the few macs that doesn't come with it's own. The price was reasonable and the performance impressive. I run my adobe programs on it. I did have one hiccup where it died, but I think it might have been my own fault. You should have a backup system anyway. After that I chose to upgrade the hd myself, which was not easy. Geting into that machine is hard. I wouldn't advise it unless it was a last ditch effort before getting a new one. However I did get in, make the switch, and got everything running better than ever. If you're looking to save money, or want a transition machine, this one is great.
