pricey and it shocks you

2

I got a pair of the apple in-ear headphones for christmas and have been using them for two months. I just recently had to stop using them. After having them replace by the Apple countless times, they were still shocking my ears, especially when using them in the cold New York City weather. I have never had a pair of headphones that caused so much pain. It comes with three pairs of tips in small, medium and large to meet varied ear canal sizes. The best part about this headphone is that integrated mic and controls. It has built-in volume buttons, call answering functions and media controls. It's pearly white in color and tends to get dirty over time but overall worked well when it was not shocking me. I heard from friends, in warmer areas, when used they did not experience this issue. It has been a documented issue, just not sure if all cases where experienced in cold environments. I would caution you to stay away from this pair - there are so many better sets to choose from, especially at this price range.

Terrible

1

I hate the style, for starters. I like the buds that just rest in your ears, the ones that used to be the only kind that existed and were flawless in design and delivery of high quality music. None of this noise-cancelling nonsense existed and they didn't fall out of your ears nonstop. On top of that, they were actually comfortable, unlike this version. These ones in particular are terrible in sound quality. The left one is always cutting out, and while blowing on it will sometimes make it stop, I shouldn't have to resort to this in order to get my ear buds to function properly. The remote stopped working for me within two weeks, and that seems to be a problem for a majority of the users of the Apple earphones. My suggestion would be to get a better brand. You pay good money for Apple accessories, but you're buying the name more than you are buying a quality product. Their accessories always seem to be cheaply made and they break or stop working within a few months. You can spend the same amount, or perhaps even less, money and get a higher quality product.

Apple In-Ear headphones - OK but not great

2

I had ordered the Apple In-Ear Headphones with remote control and mic as an upgrade for my iPod touch. I wanted something which would fit better in my ear (and therefore stay there) and have better sound. I'd say that these headphones meet only one of those goals - they fit better. The sound.... These headphones come with three sizes of silicone tips. After selecting the most comfortable (for me it was the medium), I did find that the fit was much better than for the stock headphones. They stay in well and also provide some level of noise isolation. The sound quality unfortunately wasn't great. There really is hardly any bass. Usually for me that's OK - I prefer a "brighter" sound and don't want a booming bass. I tend to listen to rock but will also listen to classical and jazz. It therefore important to have some bass response - but these really didn't deliver. I played with them a bit to try to improve matters. It does help to make sure they're fully inserted into your ears for a tight fit. This does improve the bass sound, but not enough for me. If you don't like bass at all, these are actually nice headphones. But for my purposes, they don't measure up.
