Apple Mac Mini
I use a Mac Pro myself, running Windows XP occasionally with VM Ware from my Boot Camp partition. I like that I can add extra video cards (currently running 3 monitors, 2 plus TV-out to my plasma) and have a bunch of hard drives. But this made a nice gift for my Mom who had been struggling with Windows. XP got ok over time, but Vista was horrible. Windows 7 is a little better, but not much, and would have slowed her PC down even more. Already running at a crawl. Even without all the spyware and viruses. So I set her up with a Mac mini and she loves it. It's actually gotten even faster with OS X...
