About a year ago, my mom bought an Apple IMac desktop for the family room to replace a broken down PC, that was just falling apart essentially. I am completly computer impaired, and have a hard time figuring out just about anything on a computer, but i have to say that thos desktop is pretty user friendly, and has some cool programs that it comes with, mainly the recording and mixing program Garageband. The main issues are minimal though, lack of games etc.
As a musician, i was kind of stoked about the recording program Garageband being included on the Mac, and it's actually better than alot of the recording programs i've used before, though the mac's mic is all that great, it serves it's purpose. I've used it to record and overdubs tracks by myself, which is pretty fun considering glitches with other recording software like Audacity, which has alot of lag issues, and Mixcraft which has sound issues, garageband works much better.
The main downside is that there are far less games that are compatatable with Mac as with PC, though alot of my favorites such as Pokerstars are still playable. Another downside is that alot of things may need to be downloaded to view videos etc. that are normally on PC's. Other than that, i like the Mac very much. All in all, i am pretty happy with the computer, but then again i'm not the most computer savy person out there, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
