Favorable Review
Hotel Apollo was centrally located, easily accessble from the metro. Staff were friendly and helpful. In particular, they let us check in early, for which we were deeply grateful, having flown all night. It was not luxorious, but was clean, well kept, and acceptable. Breakfast was comparable to…

Critical Review
The Apollo is a budget hotel, If you have any kind of mobility problem - I have an arthitic hip - maneuvering in the shower can be difficult. The showers are small and there is nothing to hold onto to. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Their idea of a hot item is a hard boiled egg, which may…

Despite some bad reviews this hotel is wonderful. It is located only 2-3 minutes from the subway which is only a 5 minute ride to Syntagma or Monastiraki. The hotel room was well kept and perfect for one person. (As a warning to Americans, European rooms are generally smaller than American rooms particularly bathrooms.) The only thing lacking at the hotel was the breakfast. It was satisfying but not quite enough. When I return to Athens next summer, I fully intend to stay here again. The cheap price is well worth the high…

The Apollo is a small but friendly hotel. The hotel staff were extremely helpful during the check in process and recommended several worthwhile day bus trips and nearby restaurants. My wife and I particularly enjoyed the roof top garden where we had a casual drink while relaxing after a busy day. The evening view of the acropolis was spectacular.Dining: Short Walk, Two recommended restaurants a block away were excellent and reasonably priced. —…

The rooms were comfortable and clean. The Apollo is close enough to the Plaka and Acropolis that it is a comfortable walk - about a mile. Breakfast at the Apollo was rather limited compared to other hotels in Athens and in Europe Only one restaurant - the Alexandar - was nearby but it is very good. The service is great and the food was good.Dining: Short Walk, —…

The hotel is in a great location for visitors to Athens. It is in Plaka, and almost all the major attractions in Athens are within walking distance. Individuals at the hotel spoke English and gave good advice regarding tours, local cuisine, and traveling throughout…

Reviews of Apollo - Athens,
| This fresh new hotel offers a central location within walking distance of most Athens attractions and shopping, as well as being near public transport. A great value hotel. (0507/AC) This is a cream coloured 7 storey building with balconies on all floors. This newly renovated hotel benefits from a great location just of Metaxourghio Square on Achilleas Street at the gateway to Athens. Larissa rail station is nearby, as is the downtown centre of Omonia. The sightseeing attractions of Athens are also not too far, with views of the Acropolis actually available from the hotels roof top and upper floor. Metaxourghio metro station is just a 2 minute walk away offering links to the airport (via 1 change at Syntagma Square), Piraeus port (via one change in Omonia). |
