Annie's Homegrown Organic Shells & Real Aged Cheddar Mac & Cheese, 6 Oz Boxes (Pack Of 12) —

I love my mac and cheese like the next guy, but this Wisconsin chick needs her cheese and a good tasting cheese at that. Annie's organic shells and sharp cheddar cheese powder just didn't do it for me and I am really surprised at the amount they charge for this product for what is offered.

I couldn't give this a "poor" in the star department because the noodles cooked up well, organic, I like the name Annie and I love the packaging.  (where you open the box is a cute little bunny butt).  It's the little things that humor me, but when it comes to mac and cheese I don't mess around even with the box stuff.  I think I have tried them all and Annie's Homegrown Organic Shells & Real Aged Cheddar Mac & Cheese has to be the worst as far as cheese taste (I had to add cheese to their watery cheese sauce).

I give them koodo's for using sharp cheddar cheese in the product because this at least gave them some kind of a taste where as if they would have used a mild cheddar it would have been orange water.

My cheese must stick to the pasta and like I said before this was just a 1/4 cup of water mixed with a cheese powder that I thought would have at least thickened up some, but no.

Give me my mom's home made mac and cheese anytime, but if in a pinch I will go for the cheap (89 cents) box of mac and cheese just for the flavor and value before buying this $2.89 box of pasta and no flavor.

It could be the issue with a powder cheese (not really knowing if it's real cheese) and charging a lot for the product or the fact that the cheap-O brands charge much less and have more flavor with their powered cheese...baffles my mind.

I am familiar with Annie's white cheddar mac & cheese and that one is really good. I haven't tried this one yet, so thanks for the heads up.
