I scheduled with a Master Stylist since it was my first visit (for foil highlights). When the stylist pulled the foils off she immediately said "well, we'll have to tone that" but didn't let me see what had happened. After the toning process we went to the chair and wa-la - somewhere between Lucille Ball and Ronald McDonald (sorry Ron). We went another round with toner. I walked out still looking like someone had taken an orange highlighter to my hair.
After over $500 and three months of corrective color and conditioning treatments I am still brunette with some very brassy overtones. I have a stylist who is working with me to repair the damage from three chemical treatments (in one day) and to try and return my very very dark hair to the ash blonde that it was before my Animare visit. She has also warned me that Aveda products do have the reputation of turning your hair red.
Thanks Animare for the awesome opportunity to spend tons of money and wonder if I'll ever be blonde again...
P.S. It's been especially fun to see the startled look on my friends and co-workers faces...
