Angels Fall —

Nora Roberts has a wonderful talent for combining mystery in romance.  I recently read a really good book by her called Angel's Fall.

The Story

Reese is a lady of mystery. She is definitely running from the something but what? When Reese finds herself just at the edge of a lovely little town called Angels Fist with last of her money and broken down car she accepts help from a kind stranger and decides to stay for a couple weeks just long enough to get her car fixed, and get a job and earn a little money, then she will get back on the road.

She soon finds that she actually likes the town, she likes her job, her new boss, and she has made a friend. All is not perfect however, while hiking in the woods she sees a man murdering a woman in the distance. She got a good look at the woman but not a real good look at the man. When she runs off in a panic she runs into a handsome author by the name of Brody who has made Angels Fist his home in recent years. He helps Reese get to the police department to report the crime. After an investigation of the area there is no evidence of a murder happening, and there are no Jane Doe's fitting the description that Reese saw. Because of Reese's past she fears she might be losing her grip on reality, and it seems most of the town folk don't think she is playing with a full deck either. But Brody believes her, and she likes this about Brody, and she likes Brody.

Reese needs to figure out if she is losing her mind or if she really did see the murder she thought she saw, as strange things begin to happen to her she really becomes concerned. Is she nuts or is someone trying to make her think she is?

Opinion

I really enjoyed this book.  I pretty much got in to it right away.  It took a while to get to why Reese was running, and it keeps you curious.  Then the story just keeps up pace from there, and really has a good ending.  If you like mystery mixed with romance, and a little suspense you will like Angel's Fall.

Yes, indeed there is a movie. It stars Heather Locklear, which is funny as I imagined the character younger, but that's OK. I saw it on Amazon for $4 and somthing cents, and I just ordered it on Net Flix so you can even get it there if you have a Netflix account. I will be sure to review the movie as soon as I watch it.

Great review. I too, have read this book. I read ALL of Nora's work, and this one was a good one. I also think it would make a great "Sunday night, Hallmark Movie of the Week"...think anyone will turn it into one?
