I noticed that Family Dollar was carrying a new shampoo: Angel of Mine Baby Shampoo with Camomile. Being the savvy saver that I am, I decided to give this less expensive version of baby shampoo a try. I have tried Johnsons baby shampoo with success--it truly is tear-free and it doesn't have a smell.
This Angel of Mine Baby Shampoo with Camomile looks very similar to the name brand with a bottle that is similarly shaped with a yellow flip-top lid. The shampoo is yellow and seems to have a similar consistency to other baby shampoos we have tried. I have three daughters (8, 5, 2), and they all have very sensitive skin and eyes, and I've just continued to use baby shampoo with them.
What I noticed first was that this shampoo has a smell. I wouldn't really call it a bad smell or even a baby smell. I guess it's a camomile smell. I would say that it lathers about average for a shampoo--nothing to write home about but it does make some suds. It doesn't condition hair very well, but baby shampoos are probably less concerned with that because babies usually don't have very long hair.
The biggest problem for me was when my 8-year-old got some in her eye. She's not one to complain, but she kept saying her eye was burning. We washed her eye several times, but it wasn't until the next morning that the said her eye was feeling close to normal.
My Viewpoint:
Angel of Mine Baby Shampoo with Camomile is less expensive than the name brands, but for me it wasn't worth it. It burned my 8-year-old's eye, so I'd hate to see a baby get this in his or her eyes. I would not recommend this product.
