One of the premier microbreweries in the United States is one that almost went out of business until it was rescued by a guy known for his expertise with appliances- Mr. Fritz Maytag. Maytag purchased the brewery, saving it from bankruptcy and preserving the beer recipes that made the company famous. This brewery is located in San Francisco and is known for its innovativeness in early craft brewing and also for helping to bring about the microbrew renaissance. 12 oz bottle. 6N1. Fig and warm brandy aroma. Bourbon cask and tangy roast malt. Restrained. Pours a dark, dark mahogany, with a big finger of fluffy cocoa-tinted soap above. Flavor is a lightly watery, yet nuanced milk chocolate, hazelnut paste, and almond butter, with a curt corner of cafe au lait, turbinado, and creamed soup.
