Anchor Hocking Glass Loaf Dish Clear 1.5 Quart — 

This Anchor Hocking Glass Loaf Dish Clear 1.5 Quart is one of the most used pieces of ovenware that I own. I have had this dish for many years and I like it just as much today if not more then I did when I first got it.

The Loaf Dish

This clear glass, 1.5 Qt loaf dish measures at 5.25 X 9 X 2.75 inches. It is dishwasher, freezer, oven, and microwave safe. The bottom of the dish warns that it cannot be used on the stovetop or for broiler use.

It was made in the USA and has a five-year warranty.

This dish is rectangular and has extended handles for easy transporting. It is made of thick glass that increases the durability.

My Experience

The Anchor Hocking Glass Loaf Dish Clear 1.5 Quart dish is so versatile that I can bake, serve, and store foods all in this one dish. I bake my food in it, take it to table, and serve directly from it. If there are any leftovers, I refrigerate it right in the same dish. A negative aspect to this loaf dish is that there is no lid therefore; I have to use either plastic wrap or foil to cover it.

I have made meatloaf, banana bread, tuna casserole, and countless other meals in this dish. All of the foods have come out evenly cooked and because this pan is glass, it does not absorb odors and my food comes out tasting great too.

A downfall to using glass ovenware is that the bottom of the dish has to be buttered or sprayed with non-stick cooking spray before use. Also, the food doesn't stay hot for very long. I sometimes use a hot plate underneath this dish to keep it warm when serving my food.

Even though this dish is glass and, is uncoated like metal pans, it cleans easily and has stayed looking great through all of its many uses. I have both hand washed and put it in the dishwasher. Even the toughest baked on foods have come off with ease.

Final Thoughts

Anchor Hocking is a quality brand name and I have not yet been disappointed with any of my purchases or gifts that I have received. This Anchor Hocking Glass Loaf Dish Clear 1.5 Quart is versatile, durable, and easy to clean. I would like to give this dish a 5 star rating but because there is no lid and that the food doesn't stay as warm as with metal pans, I am giving this product a 4 star rating.
