Until I had children and animals, I never fully appreciated my set of eight Anchor Hocking Fireking Glass Custard Cups.  I use them almost daily now and absolutely love them.

The Custard Cups

These round, clear, 6 oz, glass custard cups are two inches in diameter and have a rolled rim. The thickness of the glass makes the cups a bit heavier in weight than other custard cups. I believe that is the reason why they are so durable.

They are oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe.

My Experience

These custard cups are used daily by my family because there are unlimited uses for them. Listed below are just some of the uses that I have found for them:

~At dinnertime to put individual servings of vegetables in
~For melted butter when having salt potatoes or other foods
~For condiments when having a party
~For individual servings of Jell-O, puddings and of course custard
~For separating ingredients when baking
~For canned cat food (I have separate ones I use for the cat)
~At Easter, I have even used these to put the little dye tablets in to color eggs

Regardless of what I use these cups for, I have never had a problem washing them. I have used them in the microwave and have kept them in a little longer than I should have, causing some food to be burnt on but I just simply popped them in the dishwasher, and they came out sparkling clean.

I can't tell you the number of times that these custard cups have taken a tumble on the floor but have not broken.

Even though I have owned these for a number of years, there are no chips or cracks. There is, however, evidence of wear and tear on the bottoms of the cups. I can't really notice the scuff marks unless I actually lift up the cups and look at them. When they are filled with food or liquid, the evidence of wear and tear is not noticeable.

Final Thoughts

I recommend Anchor Hocking Fireking Glass Custard Cups because they are versatile, durable, and attractive. I have no complaints about mine and therefore, I am giving them a 5 star rating.
