I purchased the FTM 2006 suite and was pleasantly surprised by a one year trial usage of their ancestry.com website. Well, after trying for several days to get the search to work, I called their tech support. TS told me that as it was a free trial, they were not liable for any tech support. What good is a free triai if you can't get to use it? The program is great regardless, but if anyone has a subscription to ancestry.com, I wonder do you get this problem with TS as well?

I am very sorry if I offended you.

I did not mean to, hence the disclaimer.

Given that this has angered you, I clearly am not "perfect".

I actually intended to point out that using an incorrect keyword, which you may not have noticed, and perhaps changing it to the correct word, would get you the results you were looking for. But, as they say, "no good deed goes unpunished".

This was one of my first comments on Viewpoints and I did not realize that my comment, which was intended for you only, would be public.

Although, as you point out, everyone makes spelling mistakes, especially ones that spell checker may not catch. Therefore, in my opinion, it is nothing to be ashamed about. If i was ashamed by every spelling error I made, I would not get out of bed in the morning. (I think spelling irregularities, which usually have nothing to do with spelling knowledge, have no reflection on one's character, ability or talent as a writer/reviewer.)

I'm assuming that this message will go only to you. If I am wrong, operating out of inexperience with viewpoints, I apologize ahead of time.

Let's put this behind us and try to be friends.

Comment removed. I am sure your your commit was meant to be harmless, but unfortunately, people like me don't see it that way. Yes, I made a spelling mistake, and yes I got mad .

Congrats on your first posting, regardless.

Karrye, I don't mean to be mean or snide but if you are trying get a free trial and you spell it "trail", that could be part of the problem. I have used Ancestry.com - and will review it elsewhere - it's not perfect but it has a lot info that is otherwise available only with a lot more leg work and travel.
