This flat iron is a little expensive but it is definitely worth it! It is much healthier for your hair, it lasts a really long time, comes with a warranty, and can be used for more than just straightening. You can use this flat iron to straighten, curl or crimp/wave your hair. It is much healthier for your hair because it has ceramic plates, heats with infrared heat, and the plates float as not to fry your hair! Besides that, it lasts so long! I've had mine for about 5 years now and its performance has not worsened. Even if it did, it comes with a three year warranty. No matter what, they would replace it if something happened to it, no matter if your was your fault or the products. With proof of purchase, you could go to the kiosk in the mall, and get your hair done for free whenever you wanted just because you bought the product. Unlike other straighteners, it actually keeps your hair straight throughout the day. Even though it uses infrared heat, it gets very hot, so thats not an issue. It doesn't fry my hair or damage it as quickly. I have very thick long hair and it does an outstanding job!

I bought my Amika hair straightener at the Mall. I loved the pretty colors and designs that it came in. The Amika hair straightener doesn't fry or dry my hair out. It keeps it's sleep and smooth all day, even the next day my hair is prefect straight. I've had mine for about two years now and it's still going strong. It gets hot very quickly so there is little time waiting for it to heat up. My only complaint is it can be a tad pricey for one.

I was always one to wonder why people would stop at those stands in the middle of the mall and use a hair product. In a weak moment I stopped to look at a product and was hooked on it.  I have used many high priced flat irons and "thought" I found the one for me. When my daughter dropped and broke it I decided to do some investigating into flat irons.  I was convinced that the one I had was the best one.  It was recommended by my hair dresser.  Back to the day at the mall.  I hestitated a moment to much at the kiosk and the guy talked me into letting him do my hair.  I could not believe how fast and easy it was to straighten it.  I bought it on the spot.  I was concerned it appeared easier  then it would be when I did it.  The next morning decided I was going to let me hair air dry and see what happened when I straightened it.  It looked fantastic.  I called my sister and told her this is the flat iron she needed.  It works miracles.  My daughter also loves it.

I have been using the Amika straightener for two years now. My mother-in-law gave it to me as a Christmas gift. I had never had a straightener before, and because I have straight hair, I did not think I would have much need for it. After playing with it, I discovered that I like it even better than my curling iron for almost all my hair styling needs. The Amika works for my hair to smooth it out, give it body, and make my hair look very sleek. Yet, with a few  twist of the Amika, I can add wave or slight curls. It is a bit challenging to twist the hair to give curl, but it an be done.  As noted, I've been using this product for two years. I have only had one issue where the iron seemed to heat much much hotter than I had it set. It did this for a period of time, then quite. I have a friend who also experienced the same problem. Because it resolved itself, I did not call the company, but purchasers should be aware of this possibility to prevent burns or  hair damage.

The 1.5 amika straiightener worked great to straighten and add waves to my hair.....however the next day when i washed my hair it had lost it's original curl.  After 4 more washes the curl has yet to come back!  it looks like i braided my hair whaen it was wet and then let it out.....very loose slight wave and I had corkscrew curls from the root!  Needless to say I returned it within 6 days and got a full refund after quitea scene.  Best part about the whole thing is that the sales girl said that what happened to me is very common and after about 1 month my hair should be back to normal as long as i don't use the straightener any more.

My daughter is mixed. She has very curly hair. Ive used cheaper Flat Irons and they just couldn't get her hair stick straight. I was at Gurnee Mills mall and the girl pulled me over and tried doing my hair. I told her if she wanted to sell me on it do my daughters. It was amazing!! It's fast and easy and always looks great! I love the fact that I am able to straighten her hair, and spiral curl mine. The best investment I have made to date!

I heard about Amika from a message board. Everyone raved about how ceramic straighteners did a great job straightening the hair while minimizing damage. When I checked out the price I was immediately turned off. A couple months later I saw that they were 50% off, and I really wanted a quality straightener for my daughter's hair. It was close to Christmas and I knew that this would be a great Christmas present for her. I ordered it, and wrapped it. My daughter was happy that I'd bought it. She has really tight natural curls, and likes to wear her hair straight sometimes. With typical hair straighteners it takes at least an hour to straighten her hair, and she has quite a bit of breakage. When we tried Amika for the first time, it took less than half the time to straighten her hair and there was no breakage whatsoever. I am happy to have made the purchase, and knowing what I know now, I'd pay the original asking price for it.

I felt like I was conned into buying this hair straightener but after using it a few times it cuts straightening my hair by at least a half hour. After my hair is dried it will literally only take me maybe 10 to straighten my hair and I don't need hair spray anymore! Before I even had a ceramic plated straightener that it still didn't get my hair quite straight at the ends. The only issue I have is, it isn't as easy for me to curl my own hair as the sale's person made it seem but when I curl it, it still looks beautiful!
