Very clean hotel. Newly redone, new carpets, tile floors, clean furniture and beds. Very quiet hotel. No traffic or truck noise. Rooms were thouroughly cleaned daily. Very well kept flower gardens. Loved the roses and peonies. Lot's of different flowers and shrubs (with name tags!). Hotel has been in the family for three generations and they are proud to keep it going for more. The Mariposa lodge is a small, family operated motel which has a great location in Mariposa, CA. This charming small Goldrush town has a lot of character, and the lodge is walking distance from the shops, restaurants, and museum. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and tastefully done, albeit basic. The heat is a wall unit, and took rather a long time to heat our room when we arrived late at night. Best Value Mariposa Lodge is a motel which I would recommend highly. The room we stayed in was much larger than most motels we visited. We had 2 Queen sized beds which were very comfortable. The Bathroom and Clothes Hanging Area were separate from the bedroom by a corridor so there was ample space in the bedroom. The location was ideal as it was just 30 minutes away from Yosemite National Park. We enjoyed our stay tremedously at Mariposa Lodge and would encourage it for families particularly for its spaciousness and cleanliness. At check-in, staff provided a local map and took the time to point out a nearby Tourist center to obtain more information on Yosemite and gave recommendations on where to eat in the area. The room was quite large, with both a desk area and a table and two chairs. There was also a mini-refrigerator. The room was very clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that the motel wasn't as close to Yosemite as I had thought. The Hwy 140 Entrance to Yosemite was 43 miles away.
