The Mariposa lodge is a small, family operated motel which has a great location in Mariposa, CA. This charming small Goldrush town has a lot of character, and the lodge is walking distance from the shops, restaurants, and museum. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and tastefully done, albeit basic. The heat is a wall unit, and took rather a long time to heat our room when we arrived late at night. Other than that, it's a nice little place with a spa tub outdoor all year, and small pool, also open all year. The landscaping is outstanding. There are many varieties of native plants, with many of them labeled. It's like visiting a botanical garden! I recommend this place highly for good value near Yosemite, a scenic 45 minute drive away.

Recreational Attactions: Not Applicable, On highway 49 in the California Goldrush country. Near Hornitos, a small picturesque Goldrush town. The home of the California State Mineral Museaum, and an excellent historical museum about Mariposa and Goldrush history. Several great little coffee houses. Nice trinket shops and galleries. A very eclectic place to visit.
