Rocky was given to us about seven years ago. He weighed less than two pounds, and must have half that weight in worms. We raised him as a house pet who, at 46 pounds today thinks he is a lap dog. He is loving to people he knows and accepts other animals with supervision. The problem with this breed of dog is that he is so intelligent that, left out in the yard or on a chain, or with no discipline, he thinks of multitudes of ways to get into trouble. He loves to crawl under the covers of the bed and lick our feet. He is so funny at times, that since we have owned him (or he has owned us) we have laughed more than the rest of the time we did not know him.
Because of his reputation as a vicious dog, we have to be very careful as to where we allow him to go and must supervise him more than most other dogs. This is not because of what he does, but what he is capable of doing if he were to be allowed to run free.
