Dozer is our second Rottweiler and they have both been very gentle loving dogs - it' all in how you raise 'em. Dozer is very large, his head is almost the size of a basketball and his size can be intimidating solely because of his size - but in reality he thinks he is a chihuahua - regularly climbing into our laps or giving us kisses.
I have 5 rotties. Amber the mother is great with kids, loves everyone and is the biggest ham as long as there is no camera around. When my dad was alive she would run up 2 sets of steps and right onto his lap without missing a beat, and at that time she weighed around 80 lbs. She has 4 kids, Dakota who is the largest, weighs in at 167 lbs and is in no way fat, he is very bulky and gets your attention with a great big, sloopy kiss, he will give kisses until he gets his back and chest scratched enough to satisfy him. read full review »There are alot of people that are afraid of the Rottweiller breed. Why I will never know. People are under the assumption that they are mean. They are just the opposite, they are big babies!! They are trained to be mean. Anyone that is interested in getting a rott should check into it and you would be surprised. They are very loving, loyal and fun companions to have. That's why I love my big 150 big boy Tank!!!!
I want existing rott owners and any potential ones to know how destructive these large breeds can be when not trained properly, they can inflict deadly bites and destroy pretty much anything their size and smaller. I was attacked along with my chihuahua in August, totally unprovoked incident. I was walking my dog on a leash, while the attacker was unleashed in a public area, apparently not all owners have sound judgement that is needed in order to harbor these dogs safely. I am not saying that all rotts are bad, the people are the ones that make or break, please be a responsible person...
