               When I was three years old, Santa brought me my Samantha doll with a trunk full of clothes and all of the books from her series.  I found that Samantha was a doll that symbolized a fictional character from a point in the history of America.  My father would read me all of the books and my mother and grandmother would make the two of us matching dresses and nightgowns.  Samantha became my best friend and I still have her today.  I still buy her little dresses from the American Girl catalogue and even though my grandmother is not still with us and I can't fit into...

Santa would have to go a long way before he would be able to find a better modern toy for both little girls and grown-up doll collectors alike than an American Girl Doll.  I took great pleasure in giving Felicity and several of her costumes to a favorite little girl of mine a few years back and my favorite aunt did the same for me with the doll of my own choice, Samantha (the Victorian lass).  As an adult doll collector, of course I don't spend hours playing with the doll but she is displayed in a section of my wall unit behind glass and I now own the beautiful Samantha trunk crammed full of...

      Samantha's Holiday Coat was given to me for Christmas. I took it out and held it and thought that it was the most beautiful article of clothing made by the Pleasant Company. When I put it on my doll, I was sure that it would make her come to life and start Christmas Caroling right there!

       The coat is a beautiful purple color with a faux fur trim, but the buttons may be difficult for little girls to put on because it has snaps and little hooks. The outfit comes with the coat, little black mittens, and a hat with little flowers on the velveteen band. American Girls dolls are wonderful role models for young girls!
The stories are always about smart girls who help their families, friends, and loved ones in tough situations, but through strenght, smarts, and perserverance change every situation for the better. They dress modestly but in nice fashions, and teach girls about the history of the time periods the dolls live in.

Samantha has always been my favorite of the American Girls, and I am all thumbs up for this one!

We love the American Girl Dolls and their books.  Samantha is a special favorite and we loved reading her books.  The stories were sweet and fun.  The dolls from American girls are always well-made and the clothing is of very high quality.

Worth the price.
