American Gangster Review

This was a great movie that we are sure to buy on DVD as soon as released.

However, the ending was very disappointing as if you do your research, you know that quite a few of these people are still living especially the main character. My Date knew all about him and really wanted to see the Movie to see what became of him in the end. But that's just it, that is the end, as far as the Movie goes but we were left with the same unanswered questions as before we saw the Movie.

When something that serious occurs that is fact, far from fiction, you really feel you want to know it all and the Movie DOES NOT allow you these answers. But for all you REAL movie goers who share my and my dates interest in "Gangster Stories" and Movies about the Past,

I will leave you with my Dates final thought;

At the end of the Movie, you see " The American Gangster" (Frank aka Denzel Washington) getting out of jail and walking away although much older, but a free man. The Police didnt get all of his money, that there was more than what was under the doghouse. His wife took the Hideaway/Getaway money, went back to Puerto Rico while he was jailed and that is where he went upon his release. Research also says that with who he was and what he did, he probably went right back to his usual, no matter what his age.  For a Movie to be that intense and TRUE as well, they should have told it all.
