American Family Insurance Review

My husband and I had our car and renters insurance through American Family for 5 years with multiple cars. When our daughter and her boyfriend (now husband) moved in we were told we had to add them to our policy because they lived in our house. We were told the same thing about our 23 year old son who had his own vehicle.

It wasn't that they were driving our cars, they just lived here. Our rates went up. We asked if they could have their own insurance but were told that they had to be on the policy because they "might" have access to our cars.

Then our two teenage boys began driving. The 23 year old had 2 accidents, one of the boys had an accident (minor with no injuries) and they immediately dropped us. I've never had a ticket in 32 years of driving nor have I ever had an accident. My husband hasn't had a ticket in quite a few years so we were quite upset over the whole thing. I am sure we aren't that different from most "American Families" and expected them to live up to their name.
