Recently I called my agent for advice on making a claim, since we had recently had a couple of claims on other cars.  I was told that AmFam NEVER cancels policies and that, at worst, my rates would go up.  I was even given an estimate of what the increase would be.  It seemed more practical to make the claim and pay the increased rates.  WRONG!  Shortly after making the claim I was notified by AmFam that all of my auto policies would be cancelled.  They would not work with me in any way.  I was able to find new policies at comparable rates.  My motorcycle policy was not cancelled and since I had paid the annual premium in full and still had six months to go, I left it in place to finish out the coverage period.  After the auto cancellation took place I was billed an additional $683.00 for my motorcycle policy.  When I called I was told they had assigned an auto accident that my daughter had almost two years previously (in a now cancelled car) and that had upped the motorcycle premium which I had already paid in full.  Incidentally, my daughter doesn't even know how to drive a motorcycle nor does she have a license to do so.
