American Express - Hilton HHonors Platinum Credit Card Reviews

Amazing how the points keep adding up when using the card. 

Even on short notice, we were able to get free rooms using our points when we had to travel to Branson, Missouri from Los Angeles.

The Hilton HHonors customer service helped when tragedy hit our family and provided assistance in finding a place to stay.

American Express customer service has constantly provided great service.  When I found I was billed for products not received and in a situation where I was billed twice.they credited my account until all transactions were corrected.

My husband and I have been using the Hilton HHonors Platinum Credit Card for about 12 months and we love it. Some of the benefits:

• Spend 15k in 12 months and get Hilton Gold Status (this means free upgrades, free breakfast, and more reward points when you stay in any Hilton Family Hotel (Hilton, Embassy Suites, Doubletree, Hampton Inn, etc.) -
• 5 points for dollar on grocery, restaurant, drugstore, gas, cell phone, USPS and Hilton purchases. 3 points per dollar on all other purchases.
• A 4 or 5 star Hilton hotel is usually 40k points per night...and if you have the Hilton Amex, you can get 4 nights...

I look at a points card in terms of the dollar value of the reward received as a percent of spending necessary to obtain that reward.  On this, the Hilton HHonors Platinum Credit Card by American Express is the best that I have found.  More on the value towards the bottom.

This is the only credit card that I and my wife use.  We both carry other cards, primarily in the event that a vendor does not accept American Express.  Other than that rare instance, we don't use any other card.
