Most HelpfulI applied for a Blue by American Express card towards the end of 2005. The last thing I needed was another credit card, but I also thought that the 0% introductory interest rate could come in handy for anything major (i.e. car repairs). And with that rate being good for a solid year, why not take...
read full review »I have been with American Express for over 12 years and spend over $200,000 every year. I have 3 cards with them and have paid on time either the minimum or over every month. Never missed a payment. As I was ready to go on vacation, I paid them the exact amount, 10 days or more prior to their due date. I went in to charge more on my gold card that has no limit and it was rejected. This has never happened before. I was shocked. I call AMX and they said my spending pattern is out of controlled. I said "what does it matter to you how much I spend", I have always paid the amount you requested every...
read full review »I have never had an American express card but I have had identity theft and American express will not listen to me. Instead they call my phone everyday (a computer calls) and leave some kind of message to call them. I filed police reports and have solid evidence that is was not me but they are ignorant and will not help me. I tried several times on the phone with them and get the ring around the you no what. I advise anyone not to deal with this company. They will be nice to you when they want your money but boy if you have a problem their attitude is up yours.
This card gives a great reward, but very few places accept it.
We signed up for the card at Cosco, as this is the only card they accept. Once we tried to use it at different places we found that hardly anyone accepts it because of the high rate the merchants are charged to provide the use of this card.
However, we get 3 points per dollar on restaurants and we entertain alot, so we are thankful for that. We just go to the restaurants that accept it.
