American Express - Blue —
In checkout lines, my American Express' "Blue" card gets compliments because of its futuristic clear, sparkly plastic design -- but the real beauty of the card lines in the benefits that accomany it.
When making ANY large purcase, I use my American Express Blue card exclusively. Their "Purchase Protection" plan -- which protects purchases from accidental damage or theft for up to 90 days from their purchase date -- never ceases to amaze me. When I accidentally put my day-old cell phone through the washing machine, Amex was there and refunded my purchase in full in less than a week. When a friend's brand new HDTV was stolen from his apartment, Amex was there -- they credited him $1,000! Dealing with Amex customer service is always hassle-free. I have never had to jump through hoops to report unauthorized charges (when a card was stolen).
American Express' online account management tools are quite advanced (and pleasing to the eye). On a single page, you can view account balances, make payments, and view rewards points -- for ALL cards at once.
For any membership rewards junkies out there, Amex offers the widest array of rewards that I have ever seen -- from gift cards to travel rewards to "ShopAmex" there is definitely something for everyone. And if you truly can't find ANYthing, you can always use your points to request a credit to your account in increments of $50 (10,000 points)!
