After tryong many men's hair care products for several years, I stumbled upon American Crew Firm Hold Gel in a barber shop.  My hair is pretty curly and can get unruly and frizzy depending on length and the weather, so I like the look of gel in it. With that being said, many brands have way too much alcohol and "fillers" that leave your hair dried out and hard to manage. American Crew is probably the best hair gel as it has just the right amout of balance between alcohol and gel components to give you the hold you desire without the alcohol that dries out your hair and makes it damaged. I was very impressed with this product and have since bought the light hold and the extra firm as well. They are all fantastic items that do well to keep the hold for you. The one drawback is the price is a bit high compared to some other lesser brands thbat may do well in a pinch (eg., La looks, etc), but there is no comparison to the products. American Crew is well worth the money, unless of course you are on a tight budget!

I received this product as a gift once and decided to give it a try, and boy am I glad i did!  This product holds better than anything I've tried before.  It is very natural looking, unlike some of the other hair gels that make your hair do weird things and stand out strangely.  The best part is that the gel itself is not very sticky or greasy, so your hands and your hair don't get all messy.  I have used some products in the past that left my hair completely greasy which was awful and I couldn't stand it.  The smell of the gel is fairly neutral. I would recommend this product for guys rather than girls with shorter hair.  I have gotten a few compliments from people that know I wear gel and they loved it!  I am able to do so many different styles with my hair when using this product which is refreshing. I would recommend this product to any guy that is looking for a new gel that is easy to use, feels great is is not at all messy.

A hair stylish recommended American Crew Firm Hold Styling gel to me after I complained about having a sensitive scalp.  He said he too used the product and that it was great for getting the hold that you want without crunchiness or having to endure nasty products against your skin. I've been using it for about 4 years now and find it to do a great job.  It's the only styling gel that I will use now.  My dandruff has gotten much better after using this product and my scalp is less red and irritated at the end of the day. American Crew Firm Hold Styling Gel is available at a lot of different places, including salons, drug stores and grocery stores so it is easily to find.  There's no need to keep going back to the same salon to buy it.  There is a down side, however.  This styling gel does tend to be a little expensive.  I've found that it does go on sale every once in a while and when it does that's when I stock up.
