Don't bother booking seats ahead of time. AA takes it upon themselves to move your seats regardless of what your ticket says. We were moved to the back of the plane when they decided to site other people in our seats. Considering that 6 months earlier I personally chose my upfront seats so I could make a quick exit to make my connecting international flight I was rather upset when the flight attendants belitttled me for asking them to move the people who where sitting in my seats.
The return flight home was just as bad. The airlines lost a whole cart of luggage. Half the plane was missing at least on bag. When we spoke to the staff all they could tell us was that we needed to file a claim. We asked them to look and see if a cart or two of luggage and not been unboarded or got left behind. We were told they were not notified of anything and couldn't even track our luggage for us. Once everyone filled out forms and the crowd disappeared, we hung behind and finally got answers to our questions. Yes, a whole cart or two of luggage had been left at the departing airport and they were aware of it. The luggage would be coming in on the next flight which was scheduled to land in 10 minutes. So all those poor people who stood on line for over an hour to fill out claims and had just left would have to wait until tomorrow to get their luggage when all they needed to do was wait another 10 minutes.
