American Airlines —

American Airlines is a very bad airline when it comes to baggage. My baggage was recently lost flying from Miami to JFK, and the baggage claims person told me that it "happens all the time." The employees have a very nonchalant attitude about baggage, and it took me 2 weeks to finally receive my baggage. In addition, American Airlines was the first to begin charging extra money for the FIRST checked baggage. In summary, I recommend that you avoid checking luggage on American Airlines and perhaps consider flying other airlines.

I just flew round trip from Los Angeles to Aruba and the Miami luggage handlers sent the luggage on later flights both ways. Filing the claims took a long time, as there were lots of people in the lines. I would not travel American Airlines again unless I have no bags to check next time. I don't understand how their leadership can allow such incompetence to go on. It must be much more expensive to deal with returning the luggage to people than it would be to just put them on the right flight in the first place. This is a BIG PROBLEM for American Airlines.
