We purchased the Amcor windowless air conditioner in July, 2008. We needed a windowless unit because of the layout of the house. The unit we purchased was the 14,000 btu model. It came with a remote contol and timer and an easy to install venting system that vents heat and moisture from the room. It weighs about 60 lbs and has rolling casters for moving about.The unit was suprisingly quiet and it efficiently cooled two rooms of about 500 square feet. Not very efficient. However, it keeps the room very cold. Somewhat noisy. I do think it is one of the coldest bitterly freezing airconditioners I have ever used in my entire life. If you need to cool off in the summer, then this ac is the best one for you or a group of people. It can cool a huge area in no time whatsoever. This Air conditioner is useful in a limited space. For rooms larger than a potential appartment or standard size room this product will not be sufficient. Though in smaller spaces as mentioned about it is handy and helps keep one cool on a hot day. This is a product you do not want in your house.  My light bill went up 100 dollars a month and it is just a huge power hog.  Go with something less powerful for a medium size house.  I can't afford an Air Conditioner like this I don't think anyone would pay that much more just for this thing.  Buy a smaller one or one that is more energy… read full review »
