I have been taking Ambien for about four years now and it is the only thing that works for me. I wake up refreshed every morning without that over the counter sleep medicine hangover. It isn't right for everyone, if you are prone to night time snacking or sleepwalking then you don't even want to try this product. It has gotten a bad rap lately for some people that have driven while under the influence of this product. If you are a sensible person and monitor your medication intake and use it responsibly, it is a wonderful medicine and has been very helpful in maintaining a healthy life for me. You just need to know your body and how you respond to certain medications. Be laying in bed and ready to sleep when you take it. It works very quickly, within a matter of minutes... anywhere from five minutes to a half an hour. Don't go to bed hungry when you take it. Drawbacks include sleepwalking, sleep eating, sleep amnesia (not remembering conversations or actions from the night before), very expensive without perscription drug coverage (there is a generic available now). Anywhere from 2 to 5 dollars a pill.
So lock up the refridgerator and hide the car keys... and have a good night!
